This will plug the breach in my animal retexturing build left by the supposedly CTD prone rabbit from Bellyache's mod. Thanks.

I have High poly mods but still they aren't affecting the hanging rabbits and pheasants and I really can't stand to look at them. I've tried every rabbit mod and the dead rabbits still are low quality and ugly. I don't know if you or someone else can fix that or point me to the right mod.

This was a really good solution that covered more than one issue. Awesome.

Need a patch for pets thistle the rabbit please. Some reason most retextures don't effect any cc or ae animals.

A SkyTEST version would be amazing.

I tried to make a port for myself... but needless to say this mod/work of art is more complex than you would first expect. Getting the different layers to line up in nifscope (or alternatively xedit) is tricky.

Edit: Just found out there's an optional lite version of SkyTEST with only the AI packages (under optional files)...so you can actually use meshes from other mods.

If you install this (or any animal mesh/texture replacement mod) after SkyTEST, it should overwrite the files from SkyTEST and allow you to use whatever models you want.

SkyTEST (the regular version) has its own file structure with unique names for its animal variants. A bit like SMIM, so replacing actually does nothing, because the game has been instructed (via the esp) that the animals use different mesh paths than vanilla. You'd be replacing models and textures that are no longer in use by the game (maybe there are exceptions like certain static decorations still using vanilla meshes idk). Thus why I was relieved to found out about the lite version (still getting the essential AI packages to make animal behavior make sense), where you can use animal replacers like usual. Variants are nice, but no matter what nothing beats getting rid of awful low-poly horrors from 2011.

Then just manually merge them in SSEEdit via an override.

Or be a little more rustic and to find the nifskope file for rabbit in Skytest and change it manually. Renaming this one after the previous file.

I'm doing a hunter playthrough and I spend a ludicrous amount of time looking at rabbits from close up and oh my gosh this mod is a godsend thank you.

Hast du eigentlich schon einmal versucht das gleiche für die Datei deadanimal/rabbit zu machen? Zerstört die Immersion ein bisschen wenn beides nicht gemacht ist. :O

Very nice! I don't suppose you could do the same thing with foxes, dogs and horses? They all look like plastic figurines instead of animals with fur :-(

This causes CTDs in the Falkreath regions for some unknown reason (not using any other retex for rabbits btw). Any fix?

Provide more info, like your load order (in spoilers), log, any more specifics - Did you use loot, check for conflicts, etc
