I see a lot of people who are saying that making all dragons nonhostile isn't great, and honestly I agree. But I don't see many people with suggestions for what kind of setup to fix it. Theres the obvious suggestion of an MCM, but that's complicated on the author, and lazy on the side of constructive criticism. From what I understand, all dragons in the game belong to a faction, and what you're doing is modifying that faction so that only scripted dragons, and dragons that are provoked, will be hostile. Which means you don't have a way to edit the mod to select "some" dragons to attack. What I would suggest is maybe with a background quest event, or a very light script to forward this change to the faction until after the dragonborn kills alduin, and talks to paarthurnax at the throat of the world. This fits the lore, and the problem with some dragons still being hostile fits with the warning that paarthurnax gives you that not all of them will chill out. From what I understand, that sort of thing should be... moderately easy. I may be wrong though, if I'm talking out my ass here, just tell me.
Alternatively, individual versions that affect giants and dragons could be used, and then you can simply install the dragon one after the quest, or perhaps a simple toggle systmem through a settings spell menu could be easier. Just spitballing.
yea when i return to skyrim i definitely want to do a more intricate version for after alduin is defeated like you said, and it will be a lot easier from what i learned modding fallout 4. thanks for the comment comrade ;)
this mods seems really interesting, but stopping dragon attacks doenst seems right to me. can you make a version of the mod where only affect the giants (and mammoths) factions ? like they only attack if we attack them
Agreed. Dragons, while it would be nice for a variable. Giants given the lore should be much more passive. As it is just happening into the vicinity of them seems enough for them to go berserk an charge the dohvakin or any others.
when i return to skyrim ill see about making a seperate version. Because my thought process was if someone wanted them to be hostile you just poke em with an arrow and it would go back to normal, essentially getting rid of the nuisance of walking by a town and not knowing its being attacked and important people die. Thanks for the comments though:)
yah, but for me at least doesnt make sense the possibility of stealing a dragon treasure without he trying to defend it and dragon city attacks make logic to me too im the type of person that likes to make the game immersive, and passive dragons dont look normal in any way :/
yes, it should although the dragon faction is a bit finicky because there are some dragons that kinda want to break the setting because of scripting(ie like alduin), and since im still learning more about the scripting side of skyrim if there are random dragons that aren't passive ill do my best to fix em:)
I would suggest some exceptions from that rule, not all dragons are supposed to be passive, as Oodahwiing noted on the Throat of the World, he fears that not all dragons would gladly exchange Alduin's rule for Paarthurnax'es tyranny of the Way of the Voice. Perhaps Blood dragons and Legendary might be still feeling brave crossing path with the Dovahkiin? Paarthurnax is now the oldest dragon in all Tamriel, since he was the younger brother of Alduin, "firstborn of Akatosh, he who came first and always been, is no more", so perhaps Elder dragons could be wise enough to listen to ol' Paarth and maybe lesser dragons would fear his Thu'um, as they were used to fear Alduin's, after all they were brothers. But other than these two subspecies (Elder and lesser), I would leave the rest agressive. It's more lore friendly in my opinion, than all go suddenly passive without reason. XD
As for the Mammooths and Giants, I'm fine with your aproach. Honestly they should be passive in the base game, goddamn! The lore is depicting them as passive. Seriously, why are they agressive outside their camps? I could understand when you're near the camp, they just defend, what's theirs, but outside? Come on.
thanks for the comment:) funny enough i was just discussing this with my friend, but with how its set up now its fairly difficult to do, especially dividing into(like you said) 2 or more 'subcategories' mainly because most of them are random encounters and i believe they are that their base npc setup cant be edited easily and split up into sub-factions for dragons without completely overhauling the system. which i have a decent understanding of but until im confident in doing that i dont wanna break peoples games lol. yeah unfortunately skyrim is when i felt like Bethesda(game studios) "peaked" mainly do to their parent companies turning into some kinda ubisoft-ea hybrid and the fact that they refuse to at least overhaul the engine they been using foreverrrrr which could lead to faster/better production of the foundation of their games, but what do i know:P
thanks:), it should be compatible with diverse dragon collection, because it just add to vanilla spawns, if wyrmstooth adds vanilla dragons or atleast links them to there default faction it should work as well. i will go through and check tommorow since i gotta work tonight.

although very high change thats its incompatible with wyrmstooth unless only vanilla dragon are touched ?
this will probably need a patch for diverse dragon collection too.
will wait for more development before trying. bookmarking untill then.
