Breakable Equipment System

Description

  • Another equipment break/degradation mod.
  • Compatible with ALL well-made weapon/armor mods.
  • Compatible with ALL armor slots.
  • Compatible with PC and NPCs.
  • Broken equipment can be repaired at grindstone or workbench.
  • Equipment in NPCs' inventory, equipment in containers and eqiupment placed at habitable area are randomly tempered.

 Upgrade

  • Open MCM, disable this mod.
  • Save game, and quit game.
  • Overwrite files.
  • Start game, open MCM, enable this mod.


Uninstall

  • Move to cell that has no NPCs like qasmoke.
  • Open MCM and disable mod.
  • Wait 2 minutes.
  • Save, quit game and remove files.

Equipment Break/Degradation

  • Untempered equipment can break anytime! Temper it! ASAP!
  • When attacking, blocking, hit by enemies, equipment degrade. Equipment break when quality falls below untempered state. Quest items and non-playable items won't break.
  • You can add/remove any equipment to Unbreakable Item list. Equipment in the list never break.
  • When equipment break, it may drop to the ground.
  • After armor break, you can't equip another armor during combat. (You can disable this feature using MCM)
  • Power attack boosts break/degradation chance.
  • Weight of aggressor's weapon influences degradation rate of victim's armor. The heavier weapon is, the worse degradation is.
  • Magnitude of aggressor's spell influences degradation rate of victim's armor. The more powerful spell is, the worse degradation is.
  • Weight of victim's armor influences degradation rate of victim's armor. The lighter armor is, the worse degradation is.
  • You can set base weight of heavy armor, light armor, clothing/jewerly individually. The ratio of armor weight to base weight influences degradation rate of victim's armor. It prevents clothing becoming too fragile.
  • Magic armor spell prevents armor breaking/degrading. Instead, it dispells.
  • To take a defensive position right before hit is assumed Timed Block. It prevents equipment breaking. You can try it once every 2 secs. If you succeed in it, you can try it once more immediately.

Repair

  • When you activate grindstone or workbench, your broken equipment are converted to normal ones, then crafting menu opens.
  • If you temper converted equipment, it remains in your inventory. If you don't temper converted equipment, it become back to broken after crafting menu closed.
  • YOU CAN NOT REPAIR EQUIPMENT THAT HAVE NO TEMPER RECIPE.
  • Mod adds temper recipes for clothing/jewerly temporally, you can repair it.

Loot

  • Equipment in NPCs' inventory are randomly tempered. If NPC is merchant, goods are also tempered.
  • Equipment in containers are randomly tempered.
  • Equipment placed at habitable area are randomly tempered.
  • Equipment in Boss NPCs' inventory and equipment in Boss containers are more tempered.

Salvagers

  • Salvagers come to Skyrim! They are in the inns of various towns.
  • They salvage broken equipment left on the ground, and sell it.
  • Salvaging takes time, but If you pay fee, they do it within a day.

Equipment HUD

  • HUD shows player's equipment and its numerical quality.
  • Quality of broken/dropped equipment is shown as "B"/"D".
  • HUD position, font size, text colors and duration are configurable.

Profile

  • You can save MCM settings into JSON files and load settings from them.
  • JSON files are located at 'data/skse/plugins/BreakableEquipmentSystem/'.


Optional Files

  • Honed Metal Patch: You can ask blacksmith to repair broken equipment.
  • Nether's Follower Framework Patch: It fixes a problem that warning message is shown continuously in Whiterun city when you enable automatic container tempering.

FAQ

  • Q: Merchant goods are not tempered. A: Close bartermenu, and open it again, then goods will be tempered.
  • Q: My sword is broken when I cut the air. A: It's in the specifications for faster processing.
  • Q: I checked/unchecked Numerical Upgrade option, but equipment names don't change. A: Save, quit game, and restart. Then, it will change.
  • Q: I can't repair my equipment with a workbench or a grinding wheel. A: Execute the following command in the console to fix the problem.
