    UPDATE: As of RAID 3.0 this article is a bit less relevant as v3.0 already implements mitigations for this problem. However, if you still encounter this problem, the tweak at the bottom of this article may still fix it.


    Mods that add new enemy types are fine and have no effect on detection balance, but mods that spawn larger numbers of enemies in dungeons can sometimes be problematic. This only happens sometimes - many users use RAID and spawn mods without trouble.

  • The problem with mod lists like The Phoenix Flavour

    It turns out quite a few users who report problems with detection balance while using RAID have followed various popular mod guides/lists. They mistakenly think the problems are caused by RAID when actually the mod list they followed is the problem as it includes weather and lighting mods that break detection balance. Here's an example reply I wrote to a user who reported trouble with a Wabbajack mod list (The Phoenix Flavour):
