In the MCM, you should be able to go to ItemDefs. There, on the left-side of the menu, set the size of everything that isn't a potion or arrow to 0.

Instead of dropping things can you disable picking up items and unsheathing weapons when you go over capacity? This would solve the Honed Metal issue and the unequipping backpacks quirks as well as being more immersive. Essentially, you’ll just be using your hands to carry the overflow hence you can’t sheathe/unsheathe your weapons.

RAB, is there anyway to backup settings? I'm doing a lot of playthroughs lately and it would be really convenient to be able to copy settings between saves/playthroughs.

Also a constructive suggestion: It would be really useful if the mod put items back into the storage container (when possible) if you don't have enough room in your inventory. For example if I tried to take 30 arrows from a corpse but I can only fit 10 in my quiver, then 20 arrows would go back into the corpse container. This of course should not be the case for items given to the player by NPCs, like during quests. I don't know if that's possible, but it would be extremely useful.

Also, just want to say again that this is one of my favorite mods ever! I'm always recommending people use it!

in equipped weapons slot, how does setting 2H weapons slot = 9 do anything when a character cna only use a single 2H weapon?
this hurts my brain! i just want to limit types of items without the capacity setting...

Maybe to make things simpler for you: Set all item sizes to "1" and then set each slot to the max number items you want for that slot. For example set 2H weapons size to 1 and set it to go to slot 9. Then make slot 9 have a capacity of 1 so that you can only have 1 2H weapon on you. Make sure you do the same for stowed 2H weapons (set to slot 9, size 1, capacity 1)

I love this mod. Love it. Love it so much. Endorsed and kudos and blessings on your descendants RAB.

This mod badly needs a hud. That said, I am currently pretty happy using the debug messages. I kept having issues after I first installed the mod because I would constantly check it to see how much I was carrying, and this kind of breaks the mod because it takes a moment (quite a few moments) for the recalc to happen (which I plainly see, now that I've turned on debug messaging). Another detail that would be nice: I'd love to see an immersion option to assign zero volume to items that Campfire/Frostfall treat as backpack "strapables," i.e., tent, ax, and pot. (No idea, but is there a way to detect if an item, if added to your inventory, adds visibility tweaks? If so, that could lead to some very interesting interplay between this mod and All Geared Up.)

At any rate, every conceivable complaint that I can come up with about this mod can be alleviated through the MCM.

Definitely agree with all your points. Going into the MCM to view capacity can get old after a while =(

I’d also like to see additional categories of bag limits so it’s not just large bags/backpacks and small bags. Medium size bags would be nice.

I’m currently going through the scripts to figure out how to add another bag size category as well as a spell to show the current capacities but it may take awhile!

Agreed wrt having a hud or at the very least notifications that tell you when you've reach 80% capacity for a particular slot, that way you're not notified only when the slot is already full and items start dropping.

So, the mod is great, but somehow it still gives me problems with Honed Metal and stuff like craftloot. I've read on the description and the bugs page about the interaction with Honed Metal, but still it drops all the blacksmith inventory for me.

I think potential solutions would be either a) instead of having the player drop the items, prevent him to move when a slot is above the max capacity, or b) have a quick way to toggle the mod on/off. This would also help to quickly sell stuff, instead of having to to my horse and back to retrieve what I can't carry in one trip.

Would it be possible to implement something like that? Thanks a lot in advance!

Player just drops out items with message - cant pick up more.
Its super annoying, I tried this mod twice and I really hate how it works.
If you cant pick up even glass of water its idiotic. You cant eat food that laying on ground, you cant equip items because they immediately dropped.

After playing with this mod for a few days, I highly recommend adding cdcooley's Portable Containers as a complimentary mod. It allows you to carry around satchels or backpacks that open as containers when you access them in your inventory. This means that you can use them as an alternative to the limit buff for backpacks and bags. Best of all, it also means you can drop everything in your backpack at once (e.g, if you're using cobb encumbrance and need to move quick), and then go back and pick it up again, without moving a ton of crap in your inventory.
