I've ported the latest Full Version of SBP from Oldrim; converted it to form 44 in the CK, removed USLEEP records, forwarded USSEP records, flagged it as an ESL, and created a patch for CACO. I've tested it for hours and haven't gotten a single spider crash. If anyone's interested, I'll post it.
Here it is (image is hyperlinked to mod page). Including the standard porting steps I listed above, I also added a fix (as pointed out by JazzKiwifruit in the LE comments) to finally resolve that infamous spider-spit CTD frequently mentioned in Oldrim as well as this page's bug report. Several compatibility patches and other updates as well.
[Sry for the late reply, didn't get a notification.]
Feel free to post a link, if you so choose. It was nice to see I'm not the only one who cares about Paulicus's mod and bothered to port it, but not everyone has the free time to keep coming back to Nexus to update or fix things that most ppl are capable of fixing themselves if they really wanted to. But if I already did the work for myself, I don't mind sharing it.
Differences between my version (PPB - Paulicus Poison Block) and This Port:
Given the date for This Port's last update, it is 1 or 2 versions behind the latest LE update of Shields Block Poison. PPB is based on the latest LE version and is further updated to resolve bugs as well as cover more vanilla creatures and their attacks that were missed in the LE version, likely because they weren't common or were exclusive to DLC.
This Port doesn't have the added fix in the plugin for projectile poisonous attacks, so they can and willcause CTDs anytime the mod's effects try to activate on a non-actor, as a number in the comments below have noted. PPB has this fix.
This Port, according to comments, is still Form 43. Whether or not the old form # causes real issues, it's improper for SE and most mod managers will throw out an error when people try to use it. PPB is Form 44.
This Port offers no compatibility patches for other popular mods that conflict. PPB offers a Requiem version and a patch for each popular alchemy mod.
Form 44 probably isn't actually required. Whether form 43 or earlier is problematic at all (it clearly isn't quickly or very highly problematic) has been debated a lot. Usually updating it to form 44 won't hurt anything. You can do it yourself with the Creation Kit. Just make sure nothing gets changed other than the form, the CK can be tricky sometimes for what I hear. Sometimes changing to form 44 can cause problems either because of what the CK flakiness or perhaps some script not liking the new form, but usually that isn't the case. Note I'm not an expert at any of this. I don't create or port mods and my personal experience with changing anything in mods is very limited, but I've been reading discussions about it for a long time. I'm more concerned about the reports of ctds when fighting spiders than I am about the mod form. But it looks like its just a couple of reports, and another person reports no problem. I wonder if its a mod conflict rather then this mod itself not working.
I Can confirm this mod is causing CTD's for me when encountering frostbite spiders. It's not all the time but every time I fight the wounded frostbite spider in bleak falls barrow with this mod the game will crash during the fight. Sucks because the mod does work otherwise and is ideal for what I was looking for.
Normal spiders cause a CTD whenever they spit. Not sure the cause. I appreciate the effort put into this mod, but it is evident it needs quite the debugging.
Not working. I am even using spellbreaker, yet for example Falmer arrows still go through my block and poison me. I of course have the deflection perk.
