Immersive Stamina & Encumbrance

ISE introduces exertion fatigue mechanics into the gameplay, making the game a lot more challenging, realistic and strategic.

These are the features of the mod:-

  • Stamina depletes slowly as you run and swim. This is linked to the weight of your inventory so the more your carry, the quicker you will become tired.

  • Regeneration rates for Magicka and Stamina have been slowed down from Vanilla version. Magicka is approx 33% slower while Stamina regenerates 80% slower. If you want regen to be quicker you have to level up Stamina to reap the rewards. This is to simulate that you are growing fitter and stronger.

  • Health, Magicka and Stamina regeneration is moderately reduced once Stamina has dropped below a certain threshold.

  • Health, Magicka and Stamina regeneration is severely reduced once stamina is fully depleted.

  • Once Stamina base value is above 100 and whenever it has regenerated above this value the player will receive accelerated Health, Magicka and Stamina regeneration. This is magnified once base value exceeds 200, 300 and so on. It is capped at 600.

  • As above, once base Stamina exceeds 100 and current value is also above this, the player will receive a 5 point fortification on physical skills (Two Handed, Block, Archery, One Handed, Heavy Armour and Light Armour). There is also a 20 point fortification applied to Carryweight limit. These are lost when Stamina drops back below 100.

  • As you run, swim or sprint your Stamina will drain. This drain also applies to your physical skill set (Two Handed, Archery etc) so as you run out of Stamina your effectiveness in each of these areas will gradually fall with it by a maximum of 12 points (Two Handed and Heavy Armour) all other skills max at 10 points.

  • As your inventory weight increases so does the speed at which your stamina will deplete. Once at zero stamina or you become encumbered, whichever comes first, you will be forced to walk. Your stamina will not regenerate until you rest or toggle walk.

  • Inventory Weight is linked to Sneak ability. Now the more the player carries, the more negative impact on their sneak skill. This debuff will go to a maximum of 12 points.

  • If the player stops running and walks remember to toggle walk) or stops to rest, stamina will immediately begin to regenerate. The amount of Stamina left will directly influence how fast or slow this regen rate is.

  • Running Speed and Sprinting speed have been adjusted to be slower to make them more realistic. Walking speed has been speeded up slightly as Vanilla setting was just too slow and walking now an absolute necessity to effectively manage your levels of fatigue.

  • NPCs now walk at the same speed as the player although there are still variables with height and race etc.

  • Khajiit now run, sprint and sneak faster than other races.

  • Argonians swim faster than all other races.

  • The stamina drain on sprinting has been reduced to prevent stacking up of drain effect from running and also to make sprinting a bit more useful

  • Jump height has been increased slightly to make things feel a bit more fluid. Jumping always seemed laboured in Vanilla.

Mod recommendations and configuration suggestions

I highly recommend the following mods to compliment ISE:-

Alchemy Potions and Food Adjustments

A great lightweight mod that vastly improves food, alchemy and potions. The little offerings on stamina etc can really help you in a bind when used alongside ISE and really add to the importance of food and ingredients. I recommend you play with iNeed installed but iNeed extended esp disabled.

Wildcat - Combat of Skyrim

In the MCM I recommend that you:-

Disable health based regeneration.
Disable slow at 0 stamina.

Disable stamina cost incurred by swimming.

Immersive Hud iHud Special Edition
Your stamina bar will now be visible a lot of the time. Use Gopher's neat mod to adjust the transparency.

iNeed - Food, Water and Sleep

I have designed this mod to work in tandem with iNeed. For example if you are low on stamina and severely thirsty, hungry or fatigued, the two mods will debuff you so that stamina will not regenerate on its own. Your only chance is to sleep, eat or drink. Stamina debuffs etc will compliment ISE and give you a real challenge.

Compatibility

Frostfall - Hypothermia, Camping, Survival - Compatible - but is better to be after ISE in your load order.

Cardio SE - More Realistic Fatigue  - Not compatible - to be honest there's no need to use this mod if you have ISE. But if you prefer to use it instead or wish to go back to it just make sure that you uninstall ISM first and make a clean save before you install.

If you are already a Cardio SE user and wish to switch to ISM - It's safe to do so midgame but please remember to uninstall Cardio first and then save
.

Racial Body Morphs SE

Requires a patch which can be found in the files section

Wildcat - Combat of Skyrim

This mod has minor adjustments in speed that will overwrite ISE if loaded after it. Place ISE after this in your load order. Also as mentioned above, I recommend that you change a few options in the config menu for this mod.

Smilodon - Combat of Skyrim

Incompatible at this time

Imperious - Races of Skyrim

THIS REQUIRES A PATCH TO BE COMPATIBLE. THIS IS ON THE FILES PAGE. If using the patch for Left Hand Rings, be sure to put this patch after it in your load order or Imperiouswill not work correctly

Mortal Enemies SE

Put ISE after this in your load order, otherwise it will overwrite the speed adjustments made by ISE. Unless you prefer it that way.

Left Hand Rings Modified SE

THIS REQUIRES A PATCH TO BE COMPATIBLE. THIS IS ON THE FILES PAGE.

SSE Merged Patch
- A word to the wise. Merged patches are good for keeping your plug in numbers down, that said, if you do use it, make sure you check it with SSE Edit before kicking off your game. Sometimes it will leave stuff out and silently break your mods. If you don't know how to do any of that stuff, check out YOU TUBE there are plenty of tutorials to get you going. If you mod your game, it's highly beneficial for you to know how to use XEdit/TES V Edit.

Installation

Use the mod Manager of your choice. Just click on the link and let the mod manager do the rest. There should be no issues installing mid game. If for some reason you do have issues please message me and I will do my best to assist.

Uninstalling

Simply disable using your mod manager and remove as necessary. There should be no issues uninstalling mid game but please be aware that although I'm very confident it's safe to do so with this mod, I can't legislate for everybody's load order. - If for any reason you do end up in a bind I will try to help as best I can but please understand there are no guarantees.
