Thanks for this mod. I was able to give Frost to Letrush, and then just follow behind him aways until he was killed by a bear, and then brand Frost as mine.
The only solution I've found for getting my (old) custom follower mounted without breaking his AI.
Edit: An update for anyone experiencing similar issues, 'branded' vanilla horses WILL continue to wander off after the follower dismounts. The horses from this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6163 seem to work well with limited testing.
made same experience, read bug report, but the mod "Horses" you link to should have 7 horses, but can find 3 only. These 3 are able to ride w/o branding
Hi, I love the idea of being able to have horses that stay where you leave them, so you can go back and find them later. The only thing is, when I was testing this out, for some reason if I steal a horse and then use the brand, it still walks away. Just heads off down the road back to the stable I stole it from. I can use the Nethers Follower Framework horse call hotkey to make it appear at any time, but unless I am riding it, it just wanders off even after marking it. Additionally, the "stay in place" option only seems to work for the current active horse for NFF. So for instance, if I buy and mark a horse, and then leave it a ways away from the stable, when I go back to that location later, the horse has returned to the stable (unless it's my currently active on-call horse in NFF).
Do you know what I might be doing wrong and how I can fix that? I would love to be able to only rely on this and NFF instead of a heavier horse overhaul like CH or IH.
Having an issue atm... I have this mod installed and double and triple check that there were no mods on my list that (should) conflict with it. The first character I created with it seemed to work great - I spawned with the brands etc. Having gotten bored with that specific character shortly afterwards and deciding to create a new one is where my problems started. No matter how many I make, none of my new characters get the horse brand items when I spawn. Is there any way to spawn them into their inventories, or am I just doomed to never have them again..?
Sorry, this reply is a bit late, but I wanted to leave my comment anyway in case someone else runs into this problem.
I created a new character while using "Alternate Start" and after sleeping I had no items in my inventory. I assume you were using "Alternate Start" as well. The problem is that the branders are being added immediately, but after selecting your background and sleeping your inventory is being reset by "Alternate Start" removing the added items from this mod in the process. To avoid this issue simply disable the esp file from "Horse Branding SE" before starting a new character. Save after you actually started your new life (after sleeping). Then re-enable the esp of "Horse Branding SE". When loading the game now the items are being added correctly to your inventory.
This is really late, lol, but if you don't have the branders/unbranded you can use commands to obtain them. Brander - Your Mark: player.additem 4A003DE2 1 Brander - Follower Mark : player.additem 4A000D62 1 Unbranded: player.additem 4A0022EF 1
