This is also not working with Immersive Interaction mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/47670). Neither does the other mod (Blocksteal papyrus).
Yeah, right?! The city guard going on a manhunt because you knock a fork off a table is one of the most memed, laughed-at, and despised aspects of this game. Glad to hear it works post AE, too.
How hard would it be to adapt this mod to prevent picking up certain items at all? Like, if I play with a vampire, I would like to prevent my character from picking up silver equipment. Or perhaps allow picking up and prevent equipping.
To anyone considering using this who has a big/varied mod list: Please consider using the papyrus verison instead. You will save yourself so much time and trouble.
I spent almost two days trying to diagnose why animations/behaviours kept breaking in mysterious ghostly non-debug message outputting ways, when I finally accidentally scuppered my entire behaviours setup and found by complete happenstance that blocksteal would throw a vague and unhelpful message whenever you tried to use an owned door while behaviours and animations were all 100% borked.
Removed it, re-installed my behaviors/animations, BAM, everything was fixed and working 100% correctly what the fuck. I am crying.
Just sharing my experience of this mod, that it worked as written. Im sitting on around 600 mods and didnt have this issue. That message sounds like a mod conflict

Took a bit of testing, and I dont know why, but have Animated looting enabled keeps blocksteal from working.

To anyone else having this issue, use the alt version of the animated looting mod. Wokrs fine that way.
