1. Files are in BSA file format so you can manually replace the ones in your "Data" folder of your Skyrim Special Edition directory. 2. Optimized (2048 --> 1024 and 512 resolutions) and compressed ALL textures in the game. Freed up HALF the VRAM usage! 3. You can technically download this version with a mod manager, but it may not work. I recommend manually moving and replacing the current BSAs so you are guaranteed to obtain more FPS.
There wouldn't be much point to one of them since it would be overwritten. This should just serve as a base (by replacing the files in the directory) and using higher quality texture mods through a mod manager to override these.
Dude, I was looking for a texture just like that a few hours ago! I'll test them now to see if my FPS improves, because it's a bit hard to run Skyrim SE with 1GB VRAM. Thank you very much in advance!
Yeah right, i m lucky enough to have a high end PC atm so i dont need this, but i remember times where i had to wait months or years for any upgrade.
You have no idea how mean that "upgrade your computer" comment is @deadworxstudios, it can even hurt... Stop beeing an a*s... Love the other comments...
To be honest,... maybe deadworxstudios was a bid rude... but he has right. This game is almost 8 years old. YOU DO NEED to upgrade your PC, if you want to enjoy it with amazing graphics. Unfortunately, just placing a good GPU won't work - you need SUPER POWERFUL CPU & the faster RAM modules - and of course a great (and fast) SSD.
Sorry, I have a completely different priority for investing money. I gave everything to the last penny to the army of my country to fight the occupier, thank you for understanding
Well, I think this mod has a virus or some corrupted files because a day after downloading it I started having some problems, my PC was taking too long to shut down and start Windows. Also, today I saw that the creator who made the mod is banned.
I tried similar aproach for fallout 4 and i can tell you it works. Overwrite them with any texture replacer and you'll be fine. Also there is difference in 4gb that's a lot.
Hello, If I understand correctly it is only the vanilla textures that are compressed so that they take the same texture as the LE version? The textures of the mods are not affected? If so, is the fps still optimized by this mod?
Hi, yes the textures are the same size of those present in LE (512x512, 1024x1024). These are the base textures, so any mod textures will override these. Depending on your rig and the mods themselves, you can either gain or lose FPS. Totally depends. Vanilla wise, yes, your game will be much more optimized.
That's exactly what mod managers are designed for though; they allow overriding files in the game's Data/ subdirectory (including base game files) rather than overwriting them.
See my post above for how to fix the mod's directory structure so people can install it with a mod manager
Do you seriously think I don't know how to make it so that it can be installed with mod manager? The point of the mod is to REPLACE the original texture files. Sure, you are "overriding" the textures in a mod manager but the base textures in the data folder are still being loaded in game. You don't free up ANY VRAM at ALL by doing that. You're just stacking textures and making performance WORSE, whether it be stuttering, FPS, or longer loading screens.
It depends on whether or not those mods cover every texture in the entire game or just most of the textures in the game; In almost all cases, its the latter and you will see some benefit from using compressed vanilla textures and then overwriting them with the textures from all of your other texture mods.

newsflash, ppl can think whatever they want and you arent going to change a single mind with your name calling. in fact, you lost all credibility.

I use a lot of texture replacer (2k resolution) such as Skyrim 3D, Elsopa, High poly project, etc. as well cities overhaul like JK Skyrim.
I also have some mods that optimizes textures such as SPO (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/14084) or Simply optimized textures (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3858)
Is it still relevant to download your mod as well or does it become redundant ?
