If it's built inside stonework, it would need a vaulted ceiling or more load-bearing pillars to prevent the roof from caving in. Its architecture does not seem very safe, unless some magic is involved. And if magic is involved, it means that the whole thing holding it together could be dispelled.

Don't like it, don't download it - I'm not going to redesign the entire mesh because it doesn't fit your taste. I freely admit that I do not know a single thing about real world architecture. I made it cause it was fun, and I think it's pretty.

No need for such an unfriendly attitude towards someone who's just pointing out some logical flaws. I for myself always welcome criticism, so I can make it better next time. You can't handle criticism - that's fine. But don't jump on people.

Actually I think the criticism is misplaced, the criticism is addressing a standard that is not pertinent. It's not constructive to critique someone's creative work unless they are trying to meet a goal or asking for feedback. It's a beautiful home for those that wish to use it.

Plays a game with magic, undead, and dragons...complains about realism of architecture.

Nexus says I haven't downloaded this, so I'll repeat to endorse.
I have a big load order, bashed patch etc and I have zero problems with this house.
I know a bug is under investigation, thank you for looking into this, some mod authors don't.

I really like this, lots of hard work which I appreciate, I like the look of it, and live here a lot.
Great house, love it thank you :)

As for some complaining about realism .... don't like it don't download it, quit complaining and go make your own house.. , other stuff like landblock issues or compatibility, or genuine bugs I'm happy to see reported respectfully to a mod creator that has taken a serious amount of time to give this to us.

Wow, love the home, I seem to be having an incompatibility with another mod and I'm not sure, I could be Skyrim Sewers https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/9320

I have the same issue. I am not using Skyrim Sewers, though. Any fixes or thoughts?

Try lowering it in your load order, I think that might solve your problem

Would be nice to see a patch for Holds - the city overhaul mod. It changes the area around this house and makes it unaccessible ;c

Here's a patch I made that locks the house and makes the key for sale: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/18305

Added a post to the bugs tab if anyone else experiencing issues with the Solitude Expansion patch would like to chime in. I love this house and really want to get this issue fixed!

It's not just SOLEX as I don't use that mod and have the exact same problem you mentioned in your bug report.

Yeah I tested just SolEx, this mod and its patch for SolEx with no other mods, so there has to be an issue with THIS mod's patch. No other explanation. Wish we could get it fixed.

Heads Up this seems to be incompatible with Hidden hideouts terrain clipping errors most of the house is blocked by some added ground.
:edit turns out it's not Skyrim sewers

For me the entrance was blocked because of Dyndolod.

I don't use either of those mods and I have an issue with additional terrain inside the house.

Honestly, I'm not 100% familiar with the requirements for spouse/children moving in.It does feature an interior cell that you can move followers into, but I think the Hearthfire requirements are a bit more specific. I'll look into it!

While I am sure everyone will just love the idea this 'home' represents, in reality, no authority, or engineer, would ever permit something like it to exist. It would completely compromise the bridge in question, causing it to eventually collapse(sooner rather than later). Bridges are engineered to not have weak points(this 'house ), that would compromise the bridges, purpose, which is to remain standing. Of course, the 'bridge' in question, is not really a bridge and consists entirely of textures, meshes and photons, and one could always fall back to 'wizards did it', but, it still represents the idea of a bridge.

Well to be honest the designer did state "no load door" and "unique home". The game doesn't recognize this as a home because there is no internal cell. Thus, the designer can't assign a location ID. Sleeping in the bed should give rested but not well rested unless the designer adds the spell to the bed.

So think of it as a really nice looking magical wonder.

In a game where you absorb the soul of a dragon and shouting it back at your enemies while casting flames from your hands, we left engineering rationale behind long ago!

I make no claims as to the engineered realism. But honestly, who cares? I promise the 3d rendered bridge won't collapse, if that makes you feel any better. :)

Whenever someone points out any idea that is conceptually flawed in some way, there is always at least one person, if not more, that chimes in with
" Yeah, well dragons fly around and devour the world (or try to), and there are talking cat people everywhere, so there." Or some variation of that idea.

These types of not-argument often fail to invalidate the point being made, nor does it enhance the intelligence of the person(s), making it. Many creators do try to create works that comport with the game setting in a 'realistic' way. Others take liberties to greater or lesser degrees. Pieces of string , classed set as heavy armor with 100ac anyone? We got those too and more.

If this home had been free standing, and used to fill in the fairly empty area(s) in what should be, a very built up area around Solitude, it would be as useful addition as any other . As it is, it suffers from a 'realism' issue, and seeing that structure jutting out of that bridge is, just jarring.

"These types of not-argument often fail to invalidate the point being made"

Your point was correct and thoughtful. Sorry if I offended.

However, people do make mods that are incorrect architecturally. The audience doesn't care. The game itself made architectural mistakes in some home.

More importantly though - why bother complaining about it? Ultimately it IS a fantasy game. If the author - in this case, of course, me - likes it that way, then I don't fully comprehend why I need to be reminded for the 20th time in the comment section how "unrealistic" it is. If I wanted 100% realistic and lore friendly, I'd have just slapped another farmhouse on the side of a road, but there are 100++ mods that already do that and it wouldn't be serve me as an outlet for my personal concept of creativity.

I make mods because I like doing it, and I make them to fit an aesthetic I like. There's no guidebook that comes with installing the Creation Kit that everything a modder makes needs to conform to some standard of civil engineering or even game aesthetic - if I wanted to retexture all of Whiterun in bright pink, that would be an equally plausible use of my time if I enjoyed doing it.

I share my mods on the chance that someone else likes the things I do, and I'm not going to redesign it because it doesn't comply with things someone else likes. I try really hard to accept fair criticism with grace, but complaining about not liking the entire concept of a mod because it doesn't fit your tastes doesn't seem like it's a valuable use of your time or mine. Pretty much falls into the classic modding adage to me: "Don't like it? Don't download it."

I absolutely adore this home! It's small and cozy and really cute :) I can also say that I use ENB Rain Occlusion and it only rains in the house about half of the time. Even if it does, the rain is usually transparent and hard to see in the lighting of the house, so unless you look really hard, it should be fine.
Thank you very much for making it!

EDIT: Just noticed this was the SSE version, oops :) meant to post this on Oldrim.
