For people who don't know how to use it, you drop it from your inventory(R key) the same way you drop any item or junk, and you pick it back up by ''grabbing(hold E)''.
Survival Mode friendly as well. 'Refreshed' if you sleep indoors, up to 'drained' if you sleep outdoors.
Negatives: You can drop it everywhere, even at places you shouldn't like other people's houses and inns.
Rather than using a bedroll, I would love a mod that added a rest button when you wait (like Morrowind) that activates a brief black screen and heals your health and magic by a percentage based on how long you chose to rest for. That would be ideal for me, I miss fighting mobs and then resting to recover.
So I just learned bedrolls don't restore fatigue, it'd be nice if this mod could be patched to do that. Kinda hard to get to an inn when you're deep in a dungeon or what have you.
I still can't pick them up with the A button (or the tent in the other mod). I have places all over Skyrim with random bedrolls left in them - my room in the Bee and Barb, a hallway in High Hrothgar, etc. Running out of wolves and bears to make new ones from. I am using a controller on my computer, as I have arthritis in my hands and don't have fine or fast enough control for keyboard & mouse. No response to earlier complaint.
The script checks for the GRAB action. In the Basic Camp Gear you can also switch it to take an item when you activate it while standing far enough away that you can barely reach it. Other than VR versions of the game there's no reason for it not to work except possibly a conflict with some other mod that's grabbing the same events.
Giamel worked around Go To Bed not working for the bedroll after the latest game update. Maybe this can be done for this bedroll, too, since the author of Go To Bed said they would like to rework their mod and not just update it, which sounds like it might take a little longer.
Giamel's AE bedroll is here, it worked for me with 1.6.342
Hi, Just used your mod now. Seem great and simple. I wonder if there is a simple way to remove the player ownership you just add? I have a lot of followers who can't use your bedroll. Edit: I remove one line in one of your script and that works. That will do.
Yes, lot of us need extra beds for followers. If it was an unowned bed, I'd download it. Probably endorsed, too, if there are no flaws. As it is, I have no use for it.
Well, it does not help me. What i need is additional beds in players house. This is not it. But, thanks for your time spent in creating a mod for those who do need it.
Please read the mod description and sticky post above.. This mod was specifically designed to fulfill a request for a bedroll only usable by the player. My other mod, Basic Camp Gear has bedrolls for your followers if that's what you want.
So annoying, isn't it? You have a house, maybe a small/medium one with room for yourself and a spouse and 2 children. Then no place for your follower(s) and/or housecarl. In Medieval times, that was the way it was - there were few beds for anyone but the master and mistress of the house; others at least had pallets or cushions to sleep on in the kitchen or great hall. But 'medieval times' seem to have lasted a couple of thousand years on Nirn. One thing I like about the scholar's abode in Markarth is that there are 4 beds for adults (the scholars whose expedition was lost in the Dwemer ruins stayed there beforehand).
Either grab it or activate it normally when far enough away that you almost can't reach it. (That second option is for the VR folks because grab doesn't work for them.)

This was made by special request as a bedroll that NPCs won't try to use (and before the VR version was released).
HOLD THE ACTION BUTTON TO PICK IT BACK UP (E or X on gamepad)

I could not for the life of me figure out how to pick it up.
as for the not being able to pick it up, press the action button (the same one as for sleep) for a bit longer to put it back into your inventory.
