    Update #2 April '25

I've had some requests for a Model Swapper version of the mod. I've added one to the Optional Files section. It's a cut-down version as it just swaps models and not variants by region or snowy variants. I don't currently use Model Swapper and so let me know if any issues occur.

    Update 28th April '25

Diverse Woodchopping Blocks made the Hot Files! That's awesome! Thanks so much to all of you who've downloaded and endorsed the mod!

    Update 26th April '25

Update 1.2 fixes a crash caused by woodchoppingblock_HLT03_B.nif. Sorry about that.

    Update #2 25th April '25

Update 1.1. adds snowy variants of the chopping blocks. Make sure you download the texture pack if you don't use Happy Little Trees. I also fixed the misaligned collision on woodchoppingblock_HLT03_B and its Rift variant. Enjoy!

    Update 25th April '25

Hi everyone! Just a quick note to let y'all know I'm aware of the dodgy collision (it's misplaced) on woodchoppingblock_HLT03_B and its Rift variant. I'll upload a fix later today alongside the snowy woodchopping blocks.

    22nd April '25

    Hi everyone!

Thanks for checking out the mod! I've added textures as a separate download for those of you who don't usually use Happy Little Trees. If you don't have HLT installed, install these textures afterwards.

Snowy chopping blocks are not yet covered, but will be added in the next update :)

Fabled Forests shows conflict in Vortex. Should your textures overwrite the forest? Shows texture/landscapes/tree/northernhemisphere/aspen
    And pinebark and treepineforestcut

Could you patch this to work with woodcutting tweaks' chopping blocks and crafting system?

Hi there, I'm probably not going to patch the two mods to work together at present due to the amount of work I have on. That said, I may revisit in a while and take another look.

Happy Little Trees is gone. Any suggestions on what to do with your mod?

Download the texture patch. It contains all the textures you need.

This mod doesn't seem to be compatible with woodcutting tweaks

Install the textures pack. You shouldn't need it, but if something else is overwriting your HLT textures, that'll fix it.

Also, if the problem persists, post a pic in the bugs section, and I'll take a look to see if I can diagnose the issue for you.

Hi there, something's overwriting your Pinebark.dds (and likely Pinebark_n.dds). It's possible that Skyland Happy Little Trees doesn't match the logs, but to correct that, you'll need to set my mod to overwrite that one.

Is this compatible with season of skyrim? Im afraid the snowy variants will still be snowy even when the season mod makes the snow melt in some regions.

Man, just beautiful. If I could endorse it now, I would! Just from the screenshots alone, the attention to detail and the thoughts that went into it. Why aren't devs like that? I don't get it. To this day I don't get how conscientious modders have been for decades now, and professional studios are still not to the same extent. Especially tiny, simple things aren't considered or deliberately overlooked, inconsistencies everywhere, obnoxious UIs everywhere, even more immersion-breaking, stupider HUDs and whatnot, so HUD modders have te come up with something that should have been in the games from the git-go [for Skyrim, it was Gopher back in the day]. But I digress. I'm not currently playing Skyrim. So I'm not downloading it (yet), but would definitely do so when I get back to Skyrim one day, which I most likely will. Even if it might not work flawlessly [yet], my endorsement in mind goes out to ye nonetheless. Keep it up, mate! That love for detail is the spirit in well developed open world games.

Edit: downloaded it, but gotta wait 15 min or so and then I come back and can endorse it anyway. 🏆

Not meaning to sound funky, but why Model Swapper instead of BOS?

Well... because it swaps only meshes and not whole objects, so it means no esp, no compatibility issues (with destructable Skyrim and dynamic things for instance).
You should read model swapper modpage THO

I did take a look at the mod a while ago, but didn't see any real benefit over BOS. As far as an esp goes, I feel that's a moot point. In terms of compatibility, DTA doesn't touch woodchopping blocks (AFAIK), but I could be wrong. I'm not planning to offer a model swapper version at the moment as I'm snowed under working on other mods. That said, it's not out of the question that I might revisit the issue later :)

Because I've started skyrim over a thousand times adding and removing esps, and I'd rather any cosmetic changes I make at this point to be pluginless

Having reinstalled recently, I feel your pain. Unfortunately, Model Swapper won't work for this mod as it can't swap by location, which this mod and quite a few of my other BOS mods do.

Update: That said, I could create a cut-down version for Model Swapper...

I've added a Model Swapper version to the Optional Files section. I don't use Model Swapper at present, so let me know if it gives you any issues.

For me, the halved logs are still using the old textures. I don't use HLT, but installed the optional textures file. Maybe you missed adding them to the optional textures?

You may have to let this mod overwrite your firewood01.dds for the changes to be seen. Let me know if that fixes it. In a later version, I can change the file path to avoid that. Also, if it doesn't, let me know which model is affected and I'll check it out :)
