About this mod
A mossy redesign of the exterior of the town of Whiterun to match a green tundra while leaving the interiors of the buildings unchanged.

This mod replaces the meshes and textures for all Whiterun city exteriors but will leave interiors untouched. So Whiterun's outside is now moisty, mossy and green with old wormy woods, lichens devouring stones and along the many waterways, ferns and ivy thrive. Made to match a green tundra.
90% of textures are Vanilla assets, aged and mossy-ed, base upscaled in 2K or 4K. The 10% are a new stone path with matching grass and a dragon roof. No parallax used, just _m.dds maps with alpha (height) and green chanel (glossiness) active to add crisp. Some metalics on bleu channel also.
With only six 4K textures among tmore of 80 reworked textures (then 2K), this mod is performance friendly.
The native Whiterun flora has also been pitched to green, no trees were added. Feel free to overwrite with your own flora/trees mods or stay Vanilla. Exterior walls and farms near Whiterun are also impacted.
Meshes are set for Complex Materials (environment mapping) so use Community Shaders with Complex Materials plugin or any ENB.
I've tried to use the best freely-shared meshes fixes up to date, mixed with vanilla ones. This mod includes the following mods or some of their assets, so please endorse their inspired authors, it's hard work and sacrifice living in a meshes paradise...

Use your preferred mod organizer to install, a manual install/uninstall will be a living hell...
No script, you can install/uninstall mid-game freely.
Load order & Compatibility :
This mod should overwrite any mod who's modifying meshes in Whiterun. Load it after all mesh fixes, player homes or Whiterun overhauls like JK's. These mod's additions to Vanilla won't break your game but, as my textures are hard-coded in meshes, unmatched textures will appear. A patch will be necessary to correct that for each mod. That's the downside...
Patches ?
Though the point was to stay Vanilla, I must admit I love JK's mods and custom player houses. So I will soon work on patches for at least JK's Skyrim/Whiterun/Outskirts and EliBreezehome, wich I often use, to work with this mod.
How it works :
Exterior meshes are just pointing to an alternate aged texture (*_moss.dds) so the interiors meshes stay untouched, with their vanilla names textures. The ESP is used for more tweaks (like doors with different textures inside/outside or WR mossy rocks) and to add flora. However, some textures keep their vanilla names including the stone path, the grass, the dragon roof, the gildregreen, all the flora,... that means you can overwrite them with the textures/mods of your choice.
About that...
This is my first published mod, based on my personnal preferences and settings. I've always wonder why Whiterun can be so dry with all the waterways flowing within walls so I came to install a green tundra years ago and began to mod the textures town to my likings. But drastic changes like moss on textures who were also used inside buildings was a limitation, which I bypass by setting my textures to some exterior meshes. Then slowly built the mod by adding mesh fixes and focus on details, working with the CK to manage cases where a texture change is not appliable, hence the ESP file.
Only tested on one other Skyrim than mine, with no issues, but It's possible you may encounter some on yours, feel free to share your experiences and critics in the comments. I hope I haven't disturbed anyone by using his work. I tried to track down every mesh and texture used over the years, but it wasn't easy. If so, please contact me...
I you also love the Vanilla feeling, you can check my other mods and see if they fit your tastes.
