Edit: Use the loose files version. Archive tool keeps messing up the BSA packaging no matter what I do, so I'm making loose files the main file and default NMM file.

Re-uploading. Ran ESP through CK and BSA only leads to scripts now (checked with Beth. Archive Extractor), but I'll leave the loose files up in case I somehow still screwed with the BSA. Appreciate the feedback, thank you all for the suggestions on how to make this a proper port.

Upon reinstalling this mod after updating to version 1130, I noticed that on game load, it would not  update the camera.    That is, actual player height was changed, but camera position was not.    However, going  into the mod's MCM and then exiting it, would change the camera height.     And after adding some trace statements to the script, I came to conclusion that the camera height IS being set on game load - only to be immediately 'overwritten' by something else.

Simply putting in a delay  into the 'OnSaveGameLoaded' handler corrected the issue.
So, here you can find an Updated Version of the Mod
However, BE SURE TO READ THIS FIRST!!!!
The Update version is a light .esl, so you can't just drop it in in place of the old mod.
    You want to:

    • Uninstall the old mod.
    • Start game, load your current save, say No to looking for the mod in Creations, say Yes to continue loading.
    • Once in game, make a new manual save and exit
    • Install my version of the mod.
    • Enter the game, load your save, wait for the new MCM to register.
    • Go into MCM, set the options as wanted.

In the MCM, at the bottom, there is a new "Delay Timer Slider".    That is the introduced delay.    For my current game, I set it to 1.5 seconds.    Make a save after setting the timer slider, then try loading that save.

ok so i worked out that if i make a new save it seems to work but the issue i have is it seems if i change anything i have equipped at all my height goes back to default any idea why that is?

SOMETHING in the latest versions of the game (or maybe some mod updated for latest version of game) must be rescaling you.   I will need to look into it a bit more, but even the change that I have added - the timer delay after game load - was not necessary in older versions (1.6.353, 1.6.640)
Edit:  In my game,  player scaling stays regardless of equipping/unequipping stuff.    I suspect you may have some sort of mod that rescales you.  With luck, that mod might be writing something to the Papyrus log.

Update:   I have uploaded a newer version of my 'fix' to this mod.    It now also includes a remappable hotkey option in the MCM, so if something scales you down, you can restore your height/camera position with a single keystroke.

Really nice job on updating this mod. Bravo! I tried it out on 1.6.1170 and it works great. I like the MCM and addition of the hotkey to reset scaling if something changes it unexpectedly.

I tried it out with OStim Standalone 7.2f and animations scaled perfectly. This is the way to change your height if you use OStim...personal opinion from a lot of testing, don't use Racemenu Body Scales to change your height...it screws up alignment of animations in mods that rely on autoscaling between actors.

Yes, this mod will adjust your damage output, running speed, and jumping since it modifies your scale attribute (you can see via player.getscale what it is doing in console before and after changing your height) but, honestly...if, for example, you are using this to slightly stretch your Dark Elf to see eye to eye with a High Elf, it's only a few % increase...tiny impact to gameplay.

I guess if you want to play a 10' giant...well...then the scaling up of damage, speed, and jump is probably warranted!

Just a note that Windows Defender quarantined the updated version of the mod you posted via Google Drive link about an hour after I downloaded it and tried it out. I'm assuming it is a False Positive, but just a heads-up. Defender says it has the Wacatac.B!ml malware. Trying to download again from your Google Drive from my main or alternate computers, all blocked now on download by Defender.

Thanks a lot for updating this mod. At least ingame I can be a giant :D
If it helps, it resets my hight often (not always) when I work on something, alchemy, smithing, mining, etc...
Never had another hight after switching clothes/weapons though

But keybind to reload does the trick anyway, these are just infos if you want to tinker a bit more. As far I know I have no mod changing size of NPC or player.

This mod when used with a SmoothCam. And when sitting in a chair, the camera is locked in the middle of the body.

This worked like a charm, thanks! You should publish your added things as a new mod here on Nexus.

Everytime i load into a save it reverts to scale 1 and everytime i hate to go to the mcm menu to reset it. Is there any way to just re-enable the script again so i won't have to go to the menu or is this mod deprecated?

Was there supposed to be more to this than just "Click to enable" in the MCM menu? I checked my character's height against Gelebor. My character is the same height as he is, my eyes are at the same level as he is. But as soon as I go into first person camera, I am looking UP at him. What am I missing?

OK. Naturally the newly set height gets reset. And it's probably due to multitude of skeleton editing mods.

However here's my 5Head plan. Is there any way we can set a console command to change the camera height? Does this mod make this possible?
Because if it does, we can then bind that command to a hotkey using Console Binder and essentially set it back instantly.

Obviously player.setscale doesn't work. It changes the size in third person, but first person camera height remains at nipples-level 😄

Did you ever find a way? I'm having the same issue where my character is being reset all the time and going into the MCM constantly to change it has gotten annoying to the point that I'm not sure if I should just uninstall it but seems to be the only mod of it's kind

i feel like the height isn't a cosmetic feature only but it also affects movement speed and weapons reach/range
if i'm correct it can make meleeing significantly easier

It's an MCM, called player size adjuster. If it doesn'T load immediately, wait a bit.

This mod works very well, however it has compatibility issues with OStim, and since OStim's more tasteful functionality is built into the Serana extended dialogue mod, that mod's functionality is also reduced by this mod. If you don't use OStim or the functionality it provides for the Serana mod, this mod works exactly as intended and appears to be the only one I can find that does.

you mean the scale shenanigans? just set your scale to 1 temporarily (at least that's what I did for sexlab on LE)

Okay, so the camera change has just stopped working altogether. It doesn't change the camera at all. And judging by the fact that this mod hasn't been updated it 6 years, I'm going to assume this is a dead mod. Which is a damn shame cause this is the only mod that actually gives you the choice to choose your height. No other mod that I know of does this.
