Hi all, V-1.9.1 is up now with changes described on the main page; I uploaded new screenshots of the new open interior as well. Enjoy
V-1.9.2 Small but important update! Discovered a bug with the bookcase that swallowed books under some conditions! How to save your books: If your books still appear on the shelf, collect them from the shelf one by one! Do NOT activate the shelf, activate each book individually! When complete go outside and save, install new version and place books in a container marked for books, or loosely on the empty bookshelf. My sincerest apologies for this especially if you have lost books to the shelf, I was lucky to go to a recent prior save when I discovered it and I hope you can too. Made some minor exterior changes by swapping positions of grindstone and chopping block, and added a light source above the anvil.
V-1.9.3 The gardener was in! Removed the tall grass by the door and the one window, also the small rocks in front of the door are gone. There is now a low grass ground cover surrounding the front of the house. Removed the bolder next to the door and placed it by the fence. Added several more flowers to make the garden a bit lusher. There are a couple new screenshots of the front of the house.
V 2.3 Ads a very cozy bathing room with its own fireplace, see new screens. Also revamped the garden a bit. Enjoy V 2.3.1 Included a missing plants folder in the Texture folder for the water plants in the lake, sorry guys. Should all look lovely now. V 2.3.2 Included yet another missing texture folder for the reeds. My folders were messed up in my install and files got misplaced, my apologies to everyone this took so many uploads but now everything really ought to be in place.
This is a really well designed little house! Love the attention to detail inside and really appreciate static item groups so stuff doesn't always just fall through tables and things.
I made a video about the mod for anyone interested in checking it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgDcqu-iZ3E
That is awesome thank you so much for the video, glad you like the house
My PC is actually broken right now and I am using a public PC right now; could you use the add button on this page to add your video so I can simply verify it? I cannot access youtube from this machine and that would greatly help me until my home PC is up and running again. Cheers
Really excellent little house. Just what I wanted and beside my favorite location in the game! However, I did want to note that the area under the woodchopping, sharpening wheel, etc. has not been painted properly to prevent grass and plants growing through them if you use a grass mod like Unbelievable Grass Two or Verdant. The whole rest of the yard works perfectly without any overgrowth or things growing through the mod stuff, but that little corner does not.
Thank you for the comment and I am happy you enjoy my little house Yes the outside is something I need to go over and I hope to soon, I am aware there are some grass issues around the outside. I do not know that I will be able to accommodate grass mods or such, but I will clean up the grass that came with vanilla SSE. It has allot more and denser grass than classic Skyrim and I aim to do this soon in a small update.
I can't say exactly how you do it, but based on what another house modder told me on Facebook - Whatever you have where the plain dirt is, if you put that instead of the grass wherever you have objects, then grass and plants won't grow there no matter what grass mod you use. I don't know how to explain it, LOL. But there are certain tiles that grow grass, and certain tiles that don't. If I could figure it out myself in the CK I'd just do it myself, but the CK is like calculus to me, totally can't get it at all.
Oh Yea I know about that and I will work on it soon promise. I meant to say I can't account for mods that custom place objects like trees and in some cases even bushes and ferns; I think in that case that would override a dirt tile too. But you are correct most grass mods should respond to the dirt tile by not growing any grass there. Having a really busy week so stay tuned.
Hey I have not forgotten about the "weeding" needed around the outside; I started it and ran into CK trouble and lost all the progress I made. The new CK does handle some things differently and it was not that straight forward at least not for me. I still plan to get it done however.
Great small hangout. Only one problem and, maybe it's something I'm simply missing in the description, but this little house doesn't seem to be recognized as a home by any mods that need to identify it as such. Player homes such as Skyfall Manor or Leaf Rest have a deed or similar document or key that the PC has to posess first. I'm guessing that's to set whatever condition is required to tag the house as a home (i.e., establish "ownership"). Neither NFF or the Bless Home spell recognize the space as a "home" or as an owned home. Any idea how to overcome this limitation, if it is one, or a wake-up as to where to find the requirement in the description (which, yes, I have read more than once)? Thanks!
Out of curiosity, as I don't really know much about how mods are made, is it possible to have this house located on the west side of Lake Ilinalta? I quite like that spot. btw, this is an awesome house!
I love your mod, I just discovered it and I think I can't live without it, I have two questions, is there any way I can put a small foundry nearby? and if I harvest the plants from the garden, do they renew themselves?
Any specific reason why this mod adds 10 Hammers to the Hearthfire chest? Seems like a wild edit that makes Hammers show up in every single player home mod that uses the Hearthfire chest for storage. Just thought I'd ask.
At the time 'Crafting requires tools' was popular and I used it too, I added the hammers to have handy in player homes as they can be hard to find when you actually need them. Forgot to remove them but there is no harm done by them, sell or melt them.
Awesome little house mod, wish I had found this a LONG time ago. A mod this good should be more popular and highly rated. Thanks for all your hard work, good job!
No that is a fair question, initially I had toyed with the idea to have a smelter in the woods behind the house and in the end decided against it because I felt it ruined the setting. I kept the barrel just as an option for sorting, to for example accumulate ore there that you mine and then take a heap at once. Of course you can store anything you like in it ;) I use a mod that places a smelter at the entrance of Bilgulch mine (I think that is the name) just across the river so for me it is immersive to hike there for some smelting, its not far but yes without that mod the nearest smelter is in Whiterun so maybe I ought to add one? hm...
Lovely little home very cozy. Just got my new gaming computer and been relearning how to set up Skyrim SE. Forgot how much fun this game is started a play thru with a new player race of Halfing and the home is prefect thanks. Was curious if the cozy home would be hard to move cause I have Millwater retreat in my load order from Darkfox and it uses the same space.
Hey glad you enjoy this home and actually use it for a Hobbit, nice! Yeah moving the home is not going to happen sorry it would be allot of work and chances are another spot would conflict with something else. Without this location the home would just not be the same. Btw, my mod Hotsprings of Skyrim places a hot spring at the lakeshore close to this home goes well together ;)
Thank you and I agree ;) Have you tried disabling the tent via console command? Always works for me for left over clutter, or run a save file cleaner, good practice anyway every so often.

(Only problem conflicts with Kaidan 2's tent which clips with the picnic table. I'd rather have the cabin but he's baked into my build.)
