Noticed after I installed it this mod was overwriting HD texture mods for helmets.  Opened up the mod and deleted the texture file.  Unsurprisingly, that broke the mod.  I hope a version that is compatible with textures from other mods will be released in the future!

    Hello,
I already have this mod installed :

    Improved closefaced helmets

Maybe I don't need to have both, right ? Thank you in advance for your answer.

These mods are mutually exclusive, so there's no point having both.  One will override the other.

    Hi,

    I'm using SSE 1.6.353.0

I noticed with the vanilla helmets on the guards, if you stand to close to them, you can see through them, actually, you see through the npc anywhere you stand next to them.

This seems like a vanilla bug, I'm not sure.

This is a screen shot using this mod, same issue.

Here's a screen shot, that I can see through their backside, so this isn't related to this mod. It would just be nice to figure out what is going on and get fixed. hmm

Ahh, I see in the second screen shot, this guard's left eye is also bad, maybe he's suppose to have some blind look? hmm

Mine is the same, which I also thought was another issue here with the guards. I think this looks bad, anyway to fix his left eye?

This can happen in vanilla Skyrim and is not a result of this mod. I play at 3440*1440 and find it can get bad if I get too close.

When creating a character, you have several options for blindness. The guard in your screenshot has a scar and a damaged/blind eye. There is nothing to fix.

I just noticed the records in this mod have form version 40 other than the file header.

Don't worry about form version. It doesn't matter for Game. It works just fine in Skyrim SE.

It does matter though. The risks are equivalent to when people were running around with Oldrim plugins that had been edited using TESVSnip.

Risk of what? Skyrim.esm itself has some data form version 40, 34, 20, even 15. It's absolutely fine and harmless.

You might be right; as long as the form header is 44 there seems to be no issues. Google is no help, so many conflicting opinions, it would be nice to hear something from the game's developers on this issue.

FYI, the following is being said about your mod in a very popular patch compendium, "WARNING: The author has indicated he is no longer supporting the mod, and the plugin contains old form records. As the author has explicitly refused to save the mod in the CK to correct this, I no longer recommend its use."

Maybe simply correcting "the error"will make your mod more attractive to people. Either way, I enjoy and will continue to use your mod.

Fine. I just never thought that it is something important (i still don't). I changed form data to 44, and uploaded update.

That explains why there is some distant clipping. I think it needs form 41? Or maybe the Frankly HD Textures which i use don't have mip maps so that means rework with C.A.O and BC7 compression then try this one here again.

What Ice885 did was all that was necessary to take that notification away. If you see that in the future, open it in the CK and save it. Like he said though, it really doesn't matter.

More realistic stat-wise. Close helmets look too protective for the armor rating this helm has.

I don't know why, but since I upgraded to v2.2 all guards are now partially bald (helmet area only) in my game. Wish I had kept the 2.1 archive.

Hmm... Try re-install mod. In fact almost nothing was changed between v 2.1 and v 2.2, (only form version of data). Check if you have another mods altered guards helmets.

Reverting to 2.1 fixed this issue for me as well.

That strange... I reinstalled and checked 2.2 just now. Everything works fine for me.
Need more information about issue: is there any armor mod, patches or translation files in your load order?

My mod list is fairly extensive and does contain WACCF, ACE, Tera Armors Collection, Rustic Armor and Weapons, and Town Guard 2K.
I'll try disabling those and use the divide-and-conquer method to find out if they affect this mod.
The WACCF patch for this mod available here on Nexus had no effect, btw.
I have no translation files, I use default English.

[edit] I'll certainly keep an open mind about other mods interfering and will do extensive testing but please also bear in mind that version 2.1 works well with my current mod list and load order.

      @kn1ghtfall - Try this:
First, check if you have any loose guard helmet mesh files in your mesh folder. They will take precedence over bsa files. Like from Town Guard 2K.
Note: I believe this mesh uses the vanilla name, but replaces the vanilla mesh. Ice885: correct me if I am wrong.

Second: Download 2.1 and 2.2 to your desktop. Unzip both. Replace the 2.1 bsa files with the 2.2 bsa files. Rezip 2.1 and load with mod manager.
Test 2.1 in game. If helmet is OK, then there is nothing wrong with meshes or textures in version 2.2. Either an esp problem or patch conflict.

Sorry, I forgot to report back - in my case the problem was caused by Qwinn's patch for WACCF (mod id 18369). Open Face Guard Helmets works fine without it.

Can confirm - the WACCF patch works with 2.1 but not with 2.2, I had the same symptoms (partially bald guards).

Made a bashed patch, for some reason, it restores the helmets back to what they were before with only the eye slits from Improved Closed Faced Helmets.

Trying to remake the patch, if that doesn't work, will see about moving this mod below the patch.

Had to move it below the Bashed patch.

Hey, could you possibly add compatibility with WACCF by kryptopyr? It literally takes few minutes in xEdit if you follow this guide https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/articles/1420/ or I could send you already fixed .esp if you want to.
And thank you for great mod, love it.
