A tip for anyone else who had trouble finding the MCM in a sea of others, searching fruitlessly using the terms "unread," "book," and "glow" -- it's actually under UBG Redone.
Damn... Some mods made with NG do work on VR, but I guess this one would need more work doing to it. I don't know enough to say what though. Thanks anyway...
For LOTD users. Yes, I can confirm this mod WILL make the notes from Calcelmo EMPTY, just like the old Unread Books Glow mod. LOTD has provided their patch for the old mod, which requires the old one as its master for obvious reasons. And that's why that patch definitely won't work for this mod. The two mods even give their esps different names. And I'm not sure how much work is needed to edit that patch, or provide a new patch for this mod. I know literally nothing about modding.
Good day, I see the magic textures scroll across the book, but no glow. Nexus is having issues showing requirements etc. so thank you for posting them.
Thanks for sharing this. May I ask whether the codes in the [Visual] .ini section are hex colors that can be tweaked to change the in-game glow colors for the different book types?
the old version of glow books would make Calcemo's letter be blank from Legacy of the Dragonborn mod I wanted to see if this NEW version would do the same and would need a patch?
For some strange reason i can't get this to work, but the old Unread Books Glow SSE mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1296/) works just fine. If it helps, im also using the Book Covers Skyrim mod, but I already ruled it out, it doesnt work either with it turned off. Not gonna report it as a bug cuz I'm sure I'm missing something. I ll keep trying to fix it on my end.
In theory, no patches are needed except for quest books. If a new quest book was created there, it will need to be added to the list so that it will show up as a quest book.
Following up on this: there are two quest books defined in LotD's UBGSSE patch. What's the format of the INI file for UBGR? Is it [EditorID] = 0x[FormID minus first two digits]~[Filename] ?
If so it would look like the following: DBM_MAASE_FirstNote = 0x236D5B~LegacyoftheDragonborn.esm DBM_MAASE_CalcelmoNoteFinal = 0x236D5C~LegacyoftheDragonborn.esm
Just leave the book name out completely. Is that possible? It would save a considerable amount of time spent, as I was planning to make a list of all the Creation Club quest activate books which, there is a lot of.

Just double-checking before I go add that file.
