I just spent several hours fighting CotN conflict hell on my extensive mod list before giving up and backing out all of the related mods and reverting to vanilla. If only there were a mod that made each hold capital distinctive without mucking around with worldspace edits! Something that looked good without borking the rest of my load order!
I went looking for it but found nothing. I literally stumbled across your Dawnstar mod looking for something else, and it was the freaking answer to my prayers. Now I'm just waiting for the download timer to let me endorse this thing. Beautiful!
EDIT: Now that I've said something nice, let me be needy. Please add a Helgen Reborn patch (it adds one building to Falkreath) to your long list of requests.
EDIT3: ... although the good thing about this kind of mod is that nothing is broken even without the patch.
EDIT2: I should also add that I appreciate the extensive selection of patches you already offer. Unlike some of your competitors in this space.
Thanks for the feedback. Struggling with hundreds of overhaul patches myself was one of the reasons I chose to go the BOS route. It does limit what you can do since you can't deviate to far from the vanilla building footprint to try and keep it compatible with other mods, but I actually feel that it helps retain that Skyrim feeling in some way.
I'll have a look at the Helgen Reborn mesh, hopefully it is not to much trouble to add it to the swaps.
Beautiful stuff! I am having an issue with collision, on at least the exterior of the inn. I see in NifSkope that collision exists on the left side, but I don't know enough about collision to know what's going wrong. I've had the same issue with SREX's Markarth gate, where collision exists but I simply walk right through it. Can you check it out in game so I can confirm that it's something in my game alone? Thanks!
I just checked and it is an issue with the mod, not only your game. For some reason you can pass through all the wooden wall sections of all the buildings. I somehow missed this completely while testing. I suggest using V1.2 of the mod for now while I try to figure out what went wrong. Thanks for reporting this.
However, for us 1.5.97 users, your optional esp plugin is still header version 1.71, meaning that the game will NOT load that esp, even though it is activated. (BEES is still required)
I fixed it on my end, but you need to be aware of this.
Thank you. I'm currently in the very early stages of doing something similar for Dawnstar, but I have a few updates to some of my existing mods I want to get done first so it might be a while before release. My intention is to eventually do all the minor hold capitals ;)
Can you do something like that to replace the buildings with ones from COTN or Redbag's Falkreath? It would be useful for those who doesn't like the changes in the city layout and landscape from those mods but enjoy the architecture.
It would be possible yes, but it is unlikely that I would take on a project like that myself. I enjoy making my own models / meshes or at least modifying vanilla meshes into something familiar but new. That process is most of the fun for me. Simply re-using someone else's models means that the bulk of the mod work would just be BOS implantation and testing, and that does not interest me very much. Hope you understand.
I'll have to get permission to use the Lux meshes. Making my own will take way to long. This has been in the back of mind for a while now, so thanks for the reminder 😅
You can actually use both at the same time. My mod uses BOS to only change the longhouse in Falkreath, so the rest will remain the Nordic version. Only the "with small decor" optional extra of Nordic might cause some slight clipping issues with my mod, but if you do not use that optional plugin there should be no problems at all.
Can I have your permission to port this mod to Bethesda.net for our console users to enjoy? I can take care of the work with porting. I understand BOS cannot be use on console so I can convert it to a farmhouse replacer version or do some work to make it for falkreath only. Either way, I’ll be sure credit you for your work and add a link to this page. Thanks!
Thanks you! And lol I’ll need it. I might have to do it in a similar fashion to COTN if I’m not satisfied with a replacer only version. We’ll see. I’ll have to experiment, but I’ll get it done either way. Thanks again!

Yes, you have my permission to port this mod to console.
Good luck!
