I don't have the addon and I don't like Hunterborn, but I just googled how to make a patch in xedit using this guide. Changing ingredients is pretty simple. Instead of Ammunition records, I used "Deep copy as override into" on the Constructible Objects fields to make an esl patch, added CACO and Update.esm as masters so I could use their added ingredients, and replaced every "Salt Pile" requirement in each recipe with the "Salt" from CACO. I imagine it would be the same process for Hunterborn or any other mod that adds recipes.
