This is actually a pretty cool way to account for the warmth. Ideally, it would be nice if Frostfall and Survival mode just automatically assigned warmth values based on the material keywords used for the armor. So for example anything made of fur would be warm. Anything made of Iron would be cold. Presumably the more advanced armors like Dragonscale/Ebony/etc would all be warm. Maybe also modify it based on the item slot so a chest piece would give more warmth than gloves for example.
It's rather tedious having to manually add the survival warmth record for every single individual piece of armor from every mod you use. If a keyword system was used instead then the most you'd ever have to do for a patch is just add a keyword or 2 to Frostfall or Survival mode's function that assigned warmth.
Immersive Armor, Morrowloot Ultimate, and Opulent Outfits are the only 3 mods I'm using that add armor and even after installing the unofficial patches I've seen for Survival mode I still had to manually add a bunch of warmth values from Update that weren't in the patches.
Hey there, I find your mod really useful, however, it doesn't seem to apply on hoods, do you think this would also be tweekable in a "quick and dirty" way ? :) :)
I know this is supposed to add the spell effect to all compatible cloaks, but the ones craftable with Campfire don't seem to be covered. No luck getting the effect so far.
Since Frostfall requires Campfire I assume Frostfall adds the keywords to the Campfire cloaks. In other words my guess is the Campfire cloaks aren't Frostfall compatible until you actually install Frostfall. Sorry.
Actually scratch that; tried with frostfall installed (enabled or disabled), still no dice. Also tried adding keywords using SSEEDit; nothing. This is really mysterious.
Odd, the only thing I can think of at the moment is that the quest that adds the spell to your character hasn't fired for some reason. Try entering "player.hasspell xx000802" into the console, replacing "xx" with the mod's position in your load order. Alternatively you can type "help "Warm Cloak"" to get the correct ID. If it returns 0 then you can manually add the spell with "player.addspell xx000802". Let me know what you find. Good luck
Lovely, will try this later! Thanks for the support
Edit: Huh, it returns "1", even when the cloak isn't worn. No sign of it in the active effects list though. Removing the effect and reapplying it through the console produces the message "Warm Cloak added", but still nothing under active effects.
Just tried in my game and it appears that cloaks add warmth of 0, cowls 18. But in looking at your file in SSEEdit, it appears that you've added warmth values of 20/25 or 30 depending on whether it's cloth, leather or fur. I'm using WIC Cloaks version. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
This mod doesn't change the cloaks, it gives you a spell effect to increase your warmth rating while wearing a cloak. Check your active effects for an effect called "Warm Cloak".
Most of them are linen, hide or burlap. So, this wouldn't work for Cloaks of Skyrim if it only works for Frostfall fur cloaks. If you could expand it to cover all Frostfall cloak types, it would be just the patch I'm looking for.
I'm not sure if Cloaks of Skyrim SE is Frostfall compatible or not but I've uploaded a version that covers the Fur, Leather and Cloth Frostfall cloak Keywords.
Thank you! Cloaks of Skyrim SE *is* Frostfall compatible out of the box. I was using them together before. However, for some reason this doesn't seem to be working... maybe Frostfall recognises CoS rather than the other way around. Thanks for the effort though! It was worth a try and the expanded patch is still useful for anything that does use those keywords.
Nice, I managed to get warmth keywords on the stuff in the ARMO category but have no idea how to get it on addons. Guess I'll give up on my endeavor and use this
