Unfortunately the mod isn't working on 1170. MCM appears and I can rebind whatever keys I want succesfully but whenever I pressed the binded key nothing helps, no "saving" notification and no new save appears. I really hope it's fixed such an essential little mod.
i do love this, but would really really like to be able to have the save key default to F5 as i have -Remove QuickSave Button from SkyUI System Menu- installed and i never use quick saves, but after years of Elderscrolls and FallOut games, my muscle memory is all about F5 for saving. :P
F11 is one of those keys i assign to mods that i rarely use, but insist on having a hotkey situated in the middle of the keyboard.
No lol. Making the mod keybind default to the same on a vanilla keybind defaults to is a bad idea, not everyone uses the same mod setup you do, this is why the mod allows you to change the bind to whatever you want.
I use it in combination with "Remove QuickSave Button from SkyUI System Menu" and changed the hotkey from F11 to F5. Now, the only way to save a game is to press F5 which creates a new gamefile, and the only way to (re-)load a savegame, is to end the game first -- which is exactly what I wanted to avoid another load-bloating of my savegames!
Thanks (and a kudo) for coming back to let us know. I'm still playing pre-AE while I wait for mods to be updated or replaced. I'll add this one to the "safe" list now.
it "works" i cant find the settings in mcm unless the setting is somewhere else. EDIT Turns out it just took a second restart for the setting to load in mcm
I use Jaxonx MCM Kicker. It's a miracle, it kicks the MCM menu to reload properly every time you start your game so newly added MCM menus don't take forever to show up.
Thank you for this. Implemented on controller hotkey via MCM ~ works like a charm.
Now I have QuickSave & Save on my controller !! Each on their own hotkey. Win-win situation. (although I have Engine Fixes make a full save ipo a quicksave, it is still using the QS-slot)
I appreciate this comment r.e Engine Fixes. I have it installed of course, but I install so many mods that it's so incredibly easy to forget small details like that. For my purposes Engine Fixes will do just fine and I now I don't have to install another mod, using that setting.
Idk if this is normal behavior or not, but my hotkey doesn't save immediately. It's more like it "marks for save" and then I have to open and shut quests (or any menu) for it to save. It is still faster and easier so I like it regardless, but thought I'd see if anyone else was seeing this behavior?
Confirming the standalone version works perfectly with AE (1.6.318 and SKSE64 2.1.2)!
This is great, since it was cumbersome to save now that the fancy ones using SKSE plugins are not working yet.
Thanks!!
BTW, for me, the MCM version was actually installing correctly and you could then swap from the standalone's default F11, but then I couldn't properly escape all the way out of "System" after escaping out of "Mod Configuration". *EDIT* I got the MCM version to work and am using it now: I had this happen on another mod that had no alt version so I figured out how to get it to work and went back and reinstalled this MCM version and it works now. First, after uninstalling and reinstalling SkyUI, it let me escape out of "Mod Configuration" but it CTD'd. So I waited until I got the "MCM registered 1 new menu" message, in about a minute, then saved the old way. Then went into MCM, "Mod Configuration", "Save Hotkey" and changed it to F4 (I had to unmap skyui's "Controls>Favorite group 4" first, as it uses F4), then escape back to "System" and save the old way. Then escaped back to the game where it CTD'd when I clicked on "System tab". But when I went back into the game all is working correctly! (I like the larger text in the MCM version on the top when it says "Saving...")
hi guys. iam really in need of help. i tried so many hotkey addons and nothing seems to work. my skyrim special edition game is not accepting anything. i have read many times i need skse64 and skyui5.1 but i have installed both and it does not work. has someon and idead which problem that could be ?
PS: i have a complete clean game now except the mods i installed with the ingame mod programm. but i cant find a hotkey mod there. so my problem is still how i can get a hotkey addon to work with a newly installed skyrim special edition
If you are still looking for a good hotkey mod, throw me a personal message here in Nexus. I've gone through a great number of mods, and have catalogued everything worth exploring.

No problems after converting to ESP-ESL.
After upgrading to 1130, this MOD took effect, and there was no problem with the previous 16640 version

Much obliged.
