How to Acquire
- Option 1: Buy the journal at Warmaidens in Whiterun. Keep the journal in your inventory when you want to craft the armor at the forge or tanning rack. Crafting these requires the base game perks, Steel Smithing and Advanced Armors.
- Option 2: Use a mod like AddItemMenu to spawn in the items.
- Option 3: In the console, type help "Wayward Ranger" to look up the armor parts and add with the player.additem command.
FAQ
- The tassets are invisible! Help! :(
This appears to be a bug in the engine and affects other armors/slots. The armor partitions and priorities are set up correctly, but typically on load, the main part of the outfit still overrides the higher priority tassets, rendering them invisible. Drop the tassets, pick them up, then equip them. - The satchel clips a lot with the unarmored outfit!
The shape of the breastplate is too different from the corset to find a happy medium. Permissions are open if you'd like to have a go. - It's asymmetric! >:(
I put zaps in the bodyslide for the left pauldron. Build in BodySlide as you please. I'm not, however, going to do mesh edits to the pants to make it symmetric. Permissions are left open for that reason. - Boob plate!
First of all, this armor's got nothing on vanilla steel plate. Secondly, if you look at the corset underneath, the original Wayward Knight plate's shape looks... uncomfortable, when worn at the same time; I tried to meet in the middle here. Thirdly, if you happen to want more boob plate, use BodySlide. - I want different colors!
Permissions are open. I recommend toying with cubemaps first and diffuse second. - Male/HIMBO/BHUNP/UBE version!
Permissions are open. This requires more effort than I am personally willing to commit.

Permissions Reference
Please refer to the linked mod pages for up-to-date permissions. The below were listed at the time this mod was created.
Wayward Knight Set:
all the work here is either original geometry made in Blender & textures from Substance 3D Painter by me, and anything not original is freely redistributable CC licensed assets so feel free to do anything !!! you can reupload whatever you've modified as required to include in any derivative works
UNP Ranger Armor:
You have permission for public mods that can be found and downloaded by anyone or for strictly private use limited to yourself.
Link Outfit:
You are allowed to use the assets in this file without permission as long as you credit me
Contractor and Mavari Armors:
You can use my mods in others mods as long as i'm credited and they are not being sold.
Ash Pilgrim's Garments:
You can use my files in your own mods as long as you:
Always credit me for whatever assets you use, as well as add a link to my profile or the original mod. I worked on this over the course of a year and I'm releasing it for free. So, please respect the time I've put into it.
Do not simply reupload my mod as your own. - If you're releasing bug fixes, patches, retextures, or things of that nature, only include the necessary files you've edited and link back to mine as a required mod. Bodyslide conversions and translations too.
Adding the outfit to followers or npcs without using my mod as a requirement is fine. Just make sure you're only including the files/outfit you need, and that the npc's outfit is unique to them and cannot be crafted. Basically, just don't create a mod that makes mine redundant. If people want to wear the robes on their player character, they should download my mod.
Console or LE ports are allowed. I don't believe in restricting access to my mods based on what version people are playing. Just credit me appropriately.
Donation Points - If it's just the LE port, no. If it's a mod that builds off mine and changes anything substantial, yes.
This isn't required, but if you do use my assets in a mod, I wouldn't mind being messaged about it. I like seeing how my mods are used.
Elmlock Armor: See CC-by-SA license
Winged Hussar Armor: See CC-by-CA license
Armors (by sforz):
you can use, modify, and share freely any asset i have created, as long as they remain free. DO NOT use my assets in paid or donation-only mods (donation points on nexusmods are fine).
for the assets that use other people’s works, you should also check permissions for the original mods linked in the credits.
a link back to this blog is appreciated as a credit!
Freija armor:
Permission is granted for:
Taking my Patreon mod's assets for your own mod (followers mods, sliders for some specific body types, your own armors/hairstyles based on mine etc.);
Thieves Guild Armors Retexture:
You can use my textures as a base to create your own / make modifications (for example: recolor an armor set)
You can create any kind of patches
You can use my textures in a new texture path (for example, if you want to create a new separate armor set or weapon that use my textures but keep the vanilla items using something else).
Basically, every thing is okay as long as you don't simply repost my work as is. If you do end up using my work in your mods, please give me and anyone else I credit on my mod page credit
Please make sure to credit the people credited on this mod page, if applicable
Quality Cubemaps
I don't care.
