Is it just me or every NPC looks like a russian teen girl? I'm really struggling to find a mod that simply upgrades vanilla while not decreasing variety
I'm having this exact issue, it seems to me that all the mods that upgrades vanilla looks also throws diversity out the window. Every NPC usually looks very much the same unfortunately. They look nice though, just no variety.
I went through pretty much all NPC overhaul mods, my standouts were Cathedral and Nordic Faces, my requirements were:
1 - Vanilla+ style and variety 2 - maximum reach - all genders and races, all NPCs affected; 3 - compatibility - not needing to download patches for every single mod that adds NPCs; 4 - minimal requirements - one click install and not having to download 15 other mods to make it work.
If these are your requirements too, I believe one of those mods will be what you are looking for.
Personally, I think I'm going to try Nordic Faces, because it seems more compatible because it doesnt edit npc records directly through an esp, and this allows me to add in HAH NPC Overhaul for extra variety, will see how this works
Nordic Faces would be perfection to me if not for the dirt https://imgur.com/a/GGTFkqb
I use Tragedian's Fabulous Followers (really good and lore friendly) I use Bijin wives for non follower wives, they are rare enough so it doesn't ruin anything, just makes them stand out
I tested DIbella's Blessing but I do not recommend, not lore friendly going to give HAH NPC Overhaul a try, thanks for the suggestion
EDIT* whelp HAH NPC is just a hair mod, don't see the point
I was wondering, Vanilla hair remake SMP has just been updated to its latest version, apparently, do you have any plans to update this mod with the new hair added plus its corrections? Thanks by the way.
Came to ask this as well, I know there are a couple other vanilla-friendly SMP VHR overhauls that have updated, but I really like this one the most. I've got my fingers crossed for an update!
The mod author hasn't logged on since September. :(
You should be able to update the mod using this tool (created by the author of Vanilla Hair Remake for this purpose).
Unfortunately, it doesn't work on my system, for whatever reason. If someone else can get it working and wants to share the updated files with the rest of us, that would be amazing (the mod has open permissions).
In the meantime, I'll try to figure out why the tool isn't working on my end. If I figure it out, I'll share.
EDIT: I got the tool working, but it didn't work how I expected. You still need to regenerate all the faces in CK, which we can't do without the ESP.
Fortunately though, there is an alterantive mod: Nordic Faces. I haven't checked in on that mod in years. It is now generated with HPH, EFM, Closed Orc Mouths, and Vanilla Hair Remake (same as this mod). The faces are slightly different from these but still very good. Also has no plugin so it doesn't need any patching. I'd recommend switching it from this mod.
This is absolutely fantastic. I'd been using the vanilla faces regenerated with HPH and EFM for a while now, but your subtle tweaks on some of the faces are a noticeable improvement. Not needing to patch with Synthesis/EasyNPC is a nice touch as well!
Use this instead. It's completely patchless and has much better performance, and you don't need NPC overhauls for the NPCs it generates (they are unnamed NPCs, so already covered by this mod).
Hi, thank you so much for this mod! I have been using Ashara faces for so long to better make the NPC faces. this is such a breath of fresh air to me. Kind Regards
