This mod requires Immersive Equipment Displays(IED) to work. IED will create displays on your character with the favorited weapons and unequipped weapons for NPCs. If you don't like this feature and wish to have a "vanilla" experience, you can install the mod and disable the displays using the in-game menu.
Open the in-game menu (default key is Backspace) and navigate to View>Display Manager>View>Equipment Slots (if it isn't opened already). Then select Global tab and "Player" (then do the same for NPC later) and toggle "Sync":

Then go to Actions>All slots>DIsable:

This way IED will only display the equipped weapons.
You can also save this as a default profile that will automatically load on new saves:
There seems to be a minor incompatibility with Auto Input Switch. Using that mod, the new animations won't play when selecting items with mouse and keyboard, but will play when selecting items with a controller.
Last time I tested, it was working fine. The script listens for the "Activate" and "Right attack" inputs, which should fire from both keyboard/mouse and controller. Well, nothing much I can do about it right now if Auto Input Switch is not sending the events. It's the only way I could find to detect the items selected in a menu.
Like the other crafting animations, the vanilla game only allows you to chop wood using the wood axe and mine using the pickaxe (or ancient nordic pickaxe), but some mods let you use new items, like the recent Nordic Adze (which lets you do both with the same tool). Unfortunately when you use it, the animations still display the vanilla woodaxe/pickaxe.. Would you be willing to fix this or would it be a bit too niche to bother with? Either way, thanks for your awesome mods!!
Yeah it's possible. But in this case, I wouldn't need to use IED to change the models, as AnimObject Swapper provides a more elegant way to achieve this.
AnimObject Swapper! <- I thought that there was a mod that did this but I couldn't remember what it was called and didn't know what to look for. Thank you! I'll figure it out, looks easy enough from the description.
Hi! I have a quick question. How does the mod place the items (specifically on the enchanting table) and adjust the position of them? My character is 0.95 height and all the items sink into the table (they are clipping though, like if they were going down to match the height of the character). I'm wondering whether the items are somehow attached to the player and therefore sink down or if i have something bugged out (or i can adjust it somewhere?). It also could be a side effect of using HEELS FIX. Either way, i'd love to know how that works so i might try to figure out how to adjust it properly. It also happens on the table where you improve armors. Both in third and first person. Have a good one!
i see that the IED is one of the requirements, perhaps i could try to find the item's positions there somewhere? I've been using the mod for quite a while so i might know how to change the position there, granted it does use IED to place the items.
The mod uses IED to create the displays and places them at the character's root (I can't place the objects on the table). Use the MCM and set a height offset.
Having an issue with equipping the weapon I select in the right hand while on the grindstone. I can tell its working because when I select the bow it equips it in the left hand and does the inspect animation but still has the vanilla sword in the right and say I'm working on a sword it displays the vanilla weapon and then when I close the menu I see the weapon that I was actually selecting in my right hand flash quickly as through the mod was working but being overridden by the vanilla model. Please help this mod is awesome an I'm doing a blacksmith playthrough so its a perfect must have.
the only thing that doesn't seem to work for me is the enchanting animations. The items are placed on the table but there is no animation like placing the item and enchanting the item.
Hi. Thank you for your nice mod. I really enjoy it. Ususlly I do not like to see too many weapons on my characters body. So I did not use immersive equipment display mod before. But since it is a requirement for your mod, I had to install it. So my naive question is: Do you know any settings that enable displaying weapons in your mod but not on my characters body? Thank you.

You can follow this tutorial, but use the NPC Root node instead, and for the animation, open IED while using the furniture.

I'll take a look.

Use the MCM and set a height offset.
The vanilla AbimObject is removed when you first interact with the grindstone.
edit: never mind its in the description XD
