It is early days - right now there should be parity with Cloaks of Skyrim! It is also fully compatible with my SkyPatched Winter is Coming - Cloaks Patch here.

However, I haven't yet updated my SPID patches such as RMB SPID - SoS, RMB SPID - GAR and the sort to take advantage of RMB SPID - Core v5.0.0 changes. This means you won't yet see SoS Guards (if you use my SPID patch) with CoS Cloaks yet.

    Important!
Due to the process of compacting FormIDs and flagging as an ESL, please do not use any patches that depend on the original mod - if you use bashed patches, Synthesis patches, or similar please rebuild them. If you do not heed this, you may get a crash on entering the main menu due to missing references (formIDs no longer match up).

    Compatibility
Artesian Cloaks of Skyrim (HDT-SMP) is fully compatible - just delete the provided ESP in that package!
Retextures such as Cloaks Of Skyrim Retextured SE or Xtudo's HD Retexture are fully compatible.
Mesh replaces should also be compatible, so long as they do not include an ESP.
If you're also using RMB SPCH - Winter is Coming, 0_rmb_cloaks_shared_DISTR.ini is a shared/common file between the two. This file is identical.

I have an issue, some NPCs have invisible/blue body textures. If I revert to the old Cloaks of Skyrim - Winter is Coming the problem is gone. Any help would be appreciated.

No mesh paths were changed, but the issues you're seeing indicate missing meshes and/or textures. Are any cloaks visible, or are you having issues with specific items? If specific items, which ones?

Please make sure the original Cloaks of Skyrim is installed and enabled, with only the ESP files removed. If you are using Winter is Coming (since you mentioned that), please make sure Winter is Coming is also installed and enabled with only the ESP file/s removed.

      Some examples:

The cloaks are visible and I think both mods are installed properly (only meshes and textures enabled)

Sorry, to clarify: these NPCs have cloaks equipped? You can check their inventories and equipped items via More Informative Console.

Your mod install order should look something like this:

      • Cloaks of Skyrim (with the esp removed or hidden)
      • RMB SPCH - Cloaks of Skyrim

Neither should have any files overwritten (no conflicts should be detected). If conflicts are detected, please let me know which mods - you may want to disable them whilst testing to see if there is a soft incompatibility.

The issue you're having is veeeery odd because I'm not making any changes to vanilla clothes, in fact I have no mesh or texture changes bundled.

No problem!! Yes, that is also one of the benefits - because it removes all NPC edits it avoids issues like that! :)

Heya boss, your mods have been a great help to my games. A question though, are the cloaks still craftable?

Oh! They are if you have "Fryssa the Wide's Nordic Tailoring", but I will look into adjusting the requirements. I will also look into adding recipes for the unique cloaks as well, which currently cannot be crafted. Not sure on what a fair/balanced recipe for them would be though. Hmm.

    Hi friend!

I am trying to figure out if your Cloak mod and Xtudo's updated Cloaks addon are compatible. And if using them together is desirable. I still am semi-forever building my load order so I can easily change mods.

Xtudo's Sons of Skyrim v2.0 - My patches and fixes by Xtudo SE recently updated with cloak physics. I have other parts of that mod installed, as well as your excellent mod here.

    Xtudo's update: Version 2.3

    • Optional Cloaks of Skyrim HDT-SMP version added.
    • Updated default Cloaks of Skyrim patch with some missing cloaks.

    ==========================================
    My Current Setup:

I have been following your install directions on this mod's Description page.

    1) Original Cloaks of Skyrim mod v.1.2.1 (Main Version selected in FOMOD) with all .esp's hidden.

    2) Artesian Cloaks of Skyrim v.1.3.0, and I hid the .esp from it as you suggest, too.

    3) Next the extra Artesian addon v.1.4.0 (from Artesian's file's page) for ElSopa's Cloaks of Skyrim Retextured SSE HDT-SMP. I hid it's .esp, too.

    4) Then ElSopa's Cloaks Of Skyrim Retextured SE v.1.0 (plus the v.1.2 update) as the texture replacer. But I think the Artesian SMP meshes get overwritten by ElSopa's newer non-SMP meshes. I thought about hiding the ElSopa meshes, but I think they are improved over the older ones. And it might not work anyway.

    5) Your RMB SPCH - Cloaks of Skyrim v.1.2.1.

    ==========================================
    Possible Adding Xtudo:

Xtudo's SOS V2.0 - SE by Xtudo - Cloaks of Skyrim HDT-SMP apparently requires the newer naru1305's Sons of Skyrim - HDT Physics for Cloaks Patch, which has an .esp.

    Sooooo... can/should I do this:

    1) Original Cloaks of Skyrim mod v.1.2.1 (Main Version selected in FOMOD) with all .esp's hidden.

    2) Replace Artesian with naru1305's Sons of Skyrim - HDT Physics for Cloaks Patch v.1.1, and remove it's esp.

    3) Then use Xtudo's SOS V2.0 - SE by Xtudo - Cloaks of Skyrim HDT-SMP v.2.3. It seems like this mod is mostly meshes. And it has an .esp!

    4) Maybe ElSopa's textures, but remove the meshes? Or something else?

    5) Then of course RMB SPCH - Cloaks of Skyrim v.1.2.1.

    ==========================================
Sorry so long; you know how this cloak stuff is... You were probably hoping to avoid this kind of thing. I just hope to get the optimal load order. Thanks again!

      Hey!

So, as a rule of thumb - mesh and texture replacers will work fine. Anything that relies on an ESP file won't - but I've also adjusted the ESP name, so stuff that relies on the old cloaks.esp shouldn't load anyway.

However, the Sons of Skyrim stuff you mentioned won't conflict as this patch is for Cloaks of Skyrim. So, you should be able to use Naru's Sons of Skyrim HDT Patch and Xtudo's patch-patch for it without any issues.

Oh, I see that Xtudo has included a Cloaks of Skyrim patch on their page as well. You might not need/want that if you're using Artisian cloaks and my patch, but it might be better to drop Xtudo your questions. Basically Naru's patch is for Sons of Skyrim itself, so won't conflict with this in any way, but I suspect Xtudo's patch might be redundant/unnecessary if you're using my SPCH set-up.

It's possible Xtudo has better meshes, in which case you'll want those over the Artesian ones, unless Xtudo has changed mesh paths in the ESP.

-I did not totally process that the naru1305 patch is for Sons of Skyrim instead of Cloaks of Skyrim. Thanks for calling that to my attention! There is a lot to keep straight.

-Since Xtudo's Cloaks of Skyrim physics patch has an esp, will that work with this mod? Maybe if I hide the esp?

-I guess we need to know if Xtudo has changed mesh paths in the ESP. But if we hide the esp does it matter?

-Does anyone have favorite Cloaks of Skyrim textures to go with this? The ElSopa textures also have meshes.

-It will be great to get this mod and Xtudo's mods working together as many people use both. Refining the build order will help that.

-And, just putting this out there, I prefer capes over cloaks as they are shorter and clip less with running feet, and I think they look better anyway. I am hoping to get some good, black, physics-enabled capes that are not tattered or faded. Though that is probably outside the scope of this discussion.

Thanks for your attention and time. I will leave a note over there on Xtudo's page.

Couldn't wait to download this, then saw it wasn't quite ready to work w/ LoTD yet. :(    Welp I will track this until it can play nice with it as this idea is awesome and I would love to get rid of those cloaks esps so I can fill those slots w/ other mods. I will be checking back here everyday until its updated or a patch for this & LoTD is released ( also i'm on a downloading binge of your other RMB SPIDifed stuff, would love to add this one)

Unfortunately... unless someone is able to provide info on the process I likely won't be creating a LoTD patch :(

I don't use it myself and there doesn't appear to be any documentation regarding the process of creating a patch -- you could ask over on the LoTD patch hub if they would be willing to create a patch themselves.

Not stupid at all - it does! Survival keywords are distributed to the items.

So with mod installed I can get rid of all the CCOR, JK's, COTN patches for Cloaks of Skyrim, right?

    Hey,
I hope it's okay to ask if you will distribute Pulcharmsolis new armors like Crown Plate Set
to Redguard Bandits for example ? :)

QUANDI doesn't seem to be active anymore on their SPID mods

Umm, I've got an issue. I'm using a modlist that has all the NPC edits compiled into an EasyNPC output with the Cloaks.esp as a master, as well as the modlist creator having Custom SPID outfit distribution that requires the original ESP.

I think for the time being I'll just use the older version without the new plugin because I really don't wanna to mess with the tedium that is EasyNPC.

Wait, never mind that won't be any good to revert either since the FormID's are different.

Guess for now I just can't use this.

Yeah... I'm not sure why EasyNPC would've merged in the Cloaks changes - possibly due to the presence of inventory changes. If it's any consolation, I'm in the same boat with EasyNPC. :(

Yeah. EasyNPC merges the outfit changes from Cloaks thus making it a master for the EasyNPC output. I'd regenerate the output myself, however I'd need to re-install all the replacers in the modlist, set up the load order properly, then fiddle with EasyNPC.

This is intended - it is a shared file, both contain the same contents. I'll add a note to make it clear!
