About this mod

Makes Recorder a bit more aware of things around her, fixed several lines that were bugged, adds a few optimizations to her lines, and overall makes her "smarter" in terms on how she uses her dialog pool.

Much like my mod M'rissi is more aware, this mod attempts to do the same for the follower Recorder... It's not as thorough and the nature of Recorder's comments is a bit different. Depending on how things go, I may make this description better. For now, here's the initial release's changelog, which is a somewhat condensed version of the changes:


  • - Made lines that speak about the blood and hearts of her enemies ignore bloodless, unalive enemies (undead, daedra, dwarven)
  • - Some lines about the empire's weakness will not trigger if she's fighting a player allied with the Empire. Let's face it, the Dragonborn is not weak.
  • - Changed a line about an enemy missing the imperial city to target imperials, and not just npcs in the imperial faction
  • - Expanded lines about disturbing the slumber of Draugr to be specific to crypts and include other types of Draugr, dragon priests, as well and vampires
  • - Expanded lines about fighting the undead to account for all undead, including reanimated bodies, instead of just NPCs of the base Draugr race
  • - Expanded lines about fighting draugr specifically to include other draugr variants found in the game and dlcs
  • - Expanded lines about fighting spiders to also include different variants of spiders found in the game and Dragonborn, as well as Dwarven spiders, since she expresses in other lines that she is equally disgusted by them, instead of just small frostbite spiders
  • - Expanded lines expressing intense disgust towards spiders to also include chaurus
  • - Included the forgemaster as part of combat comments about centurions
  • - Made a comment about being sent flying by giants to include Lurkers, and Karstaag
  • - Made her dragon comments able to trigger for any dragon, and not just those with the DragonRace
  • - Fixed comments on argonians and Khajiit to include the vampire version of those (i.e. yet another vampirism fix)
  • - Made a comment on tails regrowing for argonians include the vampire version of argonians, as well other reptiles (i.e. dragons)
  • - Made comments on skeletons to include other types of skeletons found throughout the game and DLC
  • - Made a comment on the meat of enemies to include various farm animals, deer, and other edible animals, and not only mudcrabs
  • - Modified lines about wolf speak to include wolves and not just werewolves
  • - Restored three bugged lines about bears that couldn't trigger because they were checking if the combat target was three types of bear races, instead of any of them
  • - Changed a few of lines expressing fear when injured to apply when slightly more injured
  • - Added cooldowns for a few lines to avoid too much repetition
  • - Added werebears in a line expressing interest in fighting werewolves without any indication in the line that it is about werewolves
  • - Added HH and Throat of the World for lines expressing feeling intense cold
  • - Made sure a comment about deleting the memory of seeing you naked does not trigger if she is your lover
  • - Tweaked line commenting on the player using dragon armor to account for dragon scale armor
  • - Minor typographic/grammar issues/missing text in subtitles corrected
  • - Expanded types of caves and dwarven ruins to react to
  • - Expanded the type of dungeons containing dead things that she reacts to
  • - Tagged some lines as response to a quest running as Say Once, instead of triggering every 24 in-game hours while the quest is still running
  • - Fixed many mismatches between subtitles and spoken lines
  • - Tweaked the emotion values of some lines
  • - Ensured comment on bandits living on tents and having proper shelter triggers only outside, not inside, and also applies to forsworn.
  • - Ensured comment wishing people a good morning/day in the city happens during the morning
  • - Ensured comment about cities not being "dark" happens during the day
  • - Allowed comment about chickens to trigger near farms and mills
  • - Comments about Heimskr (that preacher) will only happen when she is somewhat close to him
  • - Ensured her idle comment about "the lovely sun and the beautiful blue skies" only happens when it's pleasant outside.
  • - Optimized a comment on how two-handed swords are heavy when she wields them to instead of searching for them in a huge list of vanilla two-handed swords, to just check if she is wielding something with the greatsword keyword. Additionally, this enables the detection of two-handed swords found in mods, and I added as well warhammers and battle axes as targets for the comment.
  • - Similar optimization for a comment on Battle Axes specifically, and another for Maces
  • - Similar optimization for swords for a line about duel-wielding. Additionally ensured that the comment triggers when she is dual wielding only
  • - Fixed bugged line about wielding a sword that couldn't trigger because of a wrong condition, and optimized it in the same way as mentioned
  • - Optimized lines about War Axes in the same way
  • - Fixed bugged line that referred to wielding only one sword (i.e. not dualwielding swords) so it checks if she is wielding one sword only, instead of if she is wielding a war axe in her right hand. Optimized.
  • - Similar optimizations for bows
  • - Ensured comment about the existence of Dawnstar museum to not trigger if you're already inside
  • - Recorder may mention her wetness when swimming and not just when it's raining


It's compatible with any visual replacers, as this doesn't touch Recorder, and also Recorder's Bugfix Patch, but load this plugin AFTER that one. Enjoy!
