Parallax has a few basic requirements. Check the description, there are links to other Vanilla Complex Parallax mods that provide everything you need to get started. Download all of them. You also need a few other mods: a dynamic snow mod like Better Dynamic Snow 2.11 - Definitive Edition, as well as the bug fix mods Terrain Parallax Blending Fix and SSE Engine Fixes. You can choose between ENBSeries or Community Shaders for the shader features that enable parallax. Remember to disable the vanilla snow shader(bEnableImprovedSnow=0) and enable land shadows(bDrawLandShadows=1) in SkyrimPrefs.ini, these changes are required for parallax. These should be all you need for it to at least work correctly, and you can build up your mod choices from there.
Hello, thanks for the hard work. I'm planning a vanilla run and this will come in handy. Can I use upscaled vanilla textures with your parallax mod (like Project Clarity) or the difference in resolution mess up the _p textures somehow?
Great to see more of these! A long awaited and greatly appreciated contribution to the scene.
A few of the maps in this one have some pretty high ranges and also very high frequency detail, leading to the spiky surfaces like we see in the screenshot of the stucco walls, the palace columns and floor etc... I'm sure you're aware and given the mammoth undertaking with all the releases it'd be understandable if updates took a while, but just thought I'd mention in case you were looking to update in the future.
In the interim, for anyone using the mod, you can either delete/hide these specific textures, or apply a gaussian blur and reduce contrast in an image editor to decrease the intensity of the parallax and smooth out the finer details.
