"Draugr-breath!"
— Nord Child

Draugr can be encountered all over Skyrim. The province is thousands of years old and in that time many dead have been entombed within the land's many tombs. Despite the varied contexts and inhabitants of these burial sites, the undead encountered are all too similar.

Draugr Enemy Asset Diversity aims to utilize Plague of the Dead's zombie assets to bring more visual variety to certain locations that really should have something other than the normal Dragon Cult draugr.

Post-War Draugr

Following the long and terrible Dragon War, the Nord people flourished with an empire of their own. While unshackled by their draconic masters, the thu'um was still practiced by certain groups of trained warriors. Undead from this era no longer appear in the gray mummified state that was common for members of the dragon cult. New means of burial were introduced and as such the skin takes on more pinkish tones.

Post-War Draugr can be encountered in the following locations:

Contemporary Draugr

Contemporary Draugr are the animated dead of those who had been entombed in relatively recently. They use more modern types of gear, but are unable to utilize the thu'um like their ancestors.

Contemporary Draugr can be encountered in the following locations:

Undead Imperial Soldiers

With the coming of the Third Era brought the Septim Empire and a unified Tamriel. The Imperials were spread far and wide, and so are their dead. Undead Imperials are the dead of soldiers and guardsman from the previous dynasty.

Undead Imperial Soldiers can be encountered in the following locations:

Unique Undead

Skyrim is the resting place of many legendary figures from times past, some even still walk the land undead. All the unique named enemies that can be encountered in locations covered by this mod have been given a new look to befit their status.

The following boss visuals have been overhauled:

Plague of the Dead Quest Tweaks

An optional plugin in available in the mod's FOMOD installer that will disable the vanilla Plague of the Dead quest and make it so the ritual site is a simple static encounter that can be stumbled upon.

Zombie world encounters have also been enabled by default.

If using the Bruma patch, Plague of the Dead zombies will replace all the ones from base Bruma. All generic zombies (i.e. ones not listed on the modpage above) will also no longer use weapons for consistency with their behavior in Bruma.

Recommended Mods

Cannibal Draugr on Solstheim complements this mod great as it adds new types of draugr specific to Solstheim. Ancient Nord Stalhrim will replace Ebony weapons at higher tiers with more befitting Ancient Stalhrim weapons. C.O.I.N. - Coins of Interesting Natures distributes new types of coinage around Skyrim, the silver Ancient Nord Drakr will appear in the same dungeons as Post-War Draugr. If you want the rest of the prominent Draugr bosses to have new unique visuals, Haugbui - A Draugr Overhaul does a great job of providing that, just make sure to load D.E.A.D. after Haugbui.

This mod replaces Draugr enemies in several cells with the new variants. The cells are completely untouched besides for this, so it shouldn't cause many (if any) issues. If a mod adds more enemies to a cell it will need patched or they will have the vanilla Draugr visuals.

Generic draugr base records are been completely unedited, so mods that edit them shouldn't conflict. However, those mods will also not effect my new variants at all. I also give some bosses unique visuals. If another mod does the same thing, the mod loaded last will "win".

New Draugr variants use vanilla leveled lists for weapons, so anything that changes those should also effect the new variants.

Plague of the Dead - BS Bruma Synergy Patch is not needed since all its features have been incorporated directly into this mod's Bruma patch.
