I love this, but you should really link to the mod Burnt Wood in your description: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/16982

I'd never run this mod without that one.

Hi, I found that (after pointed out by a user) the Helgen wood is terribly bright...any fix to that?

I couldn't find one myself, so I made one called "Burnt Wood."

Looks great in campfires and bonfires but seems to have the side effect of making city ruins look fairly strange. Helgen after the dragon attack is a good example. You have a mix of normal looking wood frames immediately adjacent to brightly glowing orange beams with no real transition.

Huh, I actually never thought it would do something like that, lol! But I have absolutely no idea how to fix that, other than just not installing it until after helgen, I guess.

It MAY also be used in some of the upper beams near mine entrances. Rental311 had done a really nice firelog/burning wood for skyrim32 but it had these side effects. Lazy Skyrim developers reusing items in strange places?

Totally agree, looks really good everywhere I've seen so far, *except* Helgen that looks somewhat
like if someone has been on the attack with some glow-in-the-dark paint on charred wood...
It's actually so much of an eye-sore so I went here to see if someone shared that sentiment, or
if there's a version with less "glow" before removing it...

Does the same to burnt wagons, etc. It is really too bad. It does nice things to fires but not nice things to smoldering ruins. It would probably take an esp and lots of manual work to fix. too bad.

Yeah, it's pretty much Bethesda's fault, cause those items use the ash texture, but they also use the GLOW MAP of the regular WOODFIRE! It's a mess, and it ends up making it look terrible. I've got no clue how to fix it.
A serious mod maker could probably fix it.

@IconicDeath: Lupus made some edit to meshes and textures, maybe if you’re interested you can PM him...

Beautiful and very well-done mod. Added a few screenshots to show how your fires look in my game...

    Thank you.

I think the logs would look great if you add an optional version with the ends of the logs being more dark burned. It looks unnatural for the ends of the logs being the exact same glowy texture. Just weird for my immersive taste. I will track just in case you do that!

Tell your immersive taste it needs upgrading: logs only look black at an end (or anywhere else) when the wood has turned into charcoal and has cooled off. Otherwise, the wood keeps a merrilly yellow/red glow with stripey shadows until it turnd to ash and even then it keeps glowing until the embers have completely died out.

The ends of the logs are not perfect, I know. I would like to fix it at some point. However, I have neither the time, or inclination to do it at the moment.

I'm using campfire and this makes sitting at the fire even more awesome. I'm not sure if it's been brought up before but Helgen looks very strange with this cause all the houses must be covered in "firewood" or something. Anyway I can deal with it cause really no need to go there.

Good quality textures but wood logs normally don't start to glow like in your textures until they are falling apart after some time burning. I also have to agree with johnskyrim and DSavage56 about the ends of cut logs.

    Is this compatible with Embers?

Update: I did some testing, and it is not compatible with the fire place add-on from embers. If you want the embers fires more than my texture then it's okay to install, it'll just overwrite my textures.
