Eilgird the Guard

Background

She used to be an adventurer like you. Then she took an arrow in the knee.
Now she serves as a guard in Whiterun, guarding inside Dragonsreach.
Eilgird misses the days of adventuring and hopes to join a hero for a short (or long) adventure for old time's sake.

Description
Eilgird is a custom voiced guard follower, voice by the lovely Demon Ferret (aka WeaveUsASwiss), with around 270 lines of dialog.
While not recruited, she guards at the main door of Dragonsreach (inside Dragonsreach, where there should have been a second guard but I never saw one).
While off duty, you can find her eating and sleeping in the guards barracks (the one attached to Dragonsreach dungeon).
She is a guard... So if you play as a thief or if you have bounty (especially in Whiterun) she's not the best choice for a follower.
You'll need to have two small-talks with her before being able to recruit her.
If you ask her for her name, her name will change to "Eilgird the Guard" and more dialog options will be available under "Hey Eilgird" dialog.
By default, she is lore friendly, but under her settings ("I need to tell you something") you can enable lore breaking. Currently it enables some extra lore breaking dialog under "Hey Eilgird" and may have additional lore breaking content in the future.
She comments on locations (towns, dungeons and so on). No quest commentary (at this point at least). No romance. Want to know why? Enable lore-breaking and ask her.

Features
- Guard armor preference toggle.
- Summon spell.
- Both relax here and wait here options.
- Guard party: She can invite her guard friends for a nice little party in your player home.
- Drunk guard: She can get drunk.

How Tos
- Guard armor preference toggle: Ability to switch between Eilgird's default guard armor preference to Skyrim vanilla "better armor wins" preference. Explained thoroughly in next section.
- Summon Eilgird: Take the summon spell book (Guard!) from her inventory and learn it. She doesn't need to be following you to be summoned so whenever you're in trouble and in need for a guard, call her. If you call her when you have a bounty - she'll strike you as well hehe.
- Guard party: When in player home, randomly, when talking to her (Hello) she'll ask if she can invite her friends over. To stop the party, talk to her and ask her to stop the party.
- Drunk guard: If you give her 3 Nord Mead, she'll get drunk. She'll say drunk idles when that happens. To go back adventuring, talk to her and ask her to follow you again.

Eilgird's Whiterun Guard Armor
Eilgird's armor has 3 states.
1. Before you first recruit her, she wears a default Whiterun guard outfit.
2. When you recruit her (only) for the first time, her outfit is converted to standalone armor pieces. Her outfit is removed and she wears those standalone armor pieces. This gives you the ability to take and give her whatever armor you want, without the need for an outfit framework. She wears this armor with a flag that specifies that no matter what you give her to carry, she'll wear her Whiterun guard armor.
3. You can ask her to wear a different armor. This results in Skyrim default "better armor wins" mechanism. Better means - if she has her guard armor and leather armor - she won't switch to leather (unless somehow leather armor stats are higher...).
Two ways to accomplish this:
a. You can take (and give back if you want) an armor piece. This will remove the preference flag from that armor piece.
b. Under her options ("I need to tell you something"), you can ask her to wear custom armor. This will remove the flag from all of her Whiterun guard armor pieces.

Notes:

- You can switch between (2) and (3) at any time under her options ("I need to tell you something"). The switch from (1) to (2) happens only the first time you recruit her.
- If you took a Whiterun guard armor piece from her and didn't give it back, if you ask her to wear her guard armor and that piece is missing - she won't wear it. A new piece is not being spawned. Try not to sell/lose her armor hehe.
- When you dismiss her, she'll go back wearing her guard armor (if she has it). It is best to give her armor back if you took it from her before dismissing.

Technical
- ESL flagged.
- She doesn't have a custom armor. Her guard armor will rely on your active mods.
- She doesn't have a custom body. She will use whatever body/texture mod you are using.
- She is essential (un-killable).
- She has basic guard attributes and levels with the player. This means:
a. She doesn't cast spells. The other guards don't (at least with the set of mods I'm playing with).
b. If the player is weak, she is weak. If the player is strong, she is strong. She is not a one-man-army.
- When not following the player, She will be assigned to the guards faction and Whiterun guards crime faction. This means - if you want to break the law on Whiterun or play as a thief in general, she is not the best choice for a follower for you.
- Having said that, we didn't record lines for vanilla "Go to jail", "Pay the fine" mechanism so she will fight you if your bounty is too high, but she won't pop-up the "Go to jail", "Pay the fine" and such dialog that exists on other guards. Instead, she'll pop-up her "Hello" lines.
- When following the player, she will be removed from the guards faction until dismissed. This means, if you get a high bounty while she is following you, she might start attacking you when dismissing her. Hey! She's a guard.
- She was developed on Skyrim version 1.6.1130. This means, if you're using an older Skyrim version, you'll need BEES (in Requirements section).
- She has a decent set of follower framework functionality:
a. You don't need to import her to a follower framework.
b. It is best if you don't import her to a follower framework.
c. Still, if you imported her to a follower framework, she should be able to function, but I cannot guarantee that.
- Please try not to mix a follower/outfit framework mechanism with her Guard armor preference system. I want to believe it wont break anything, but I don't know that and I haven't tested this scenario (so many frameworks out there).
