  • Adds about 2000 bulbs, illuminating fires, candles, and sconces that previously did not emit light. Example Album (with increased bulb brightness so it's obvious). Both interiors and exteriors are affected.
  • Adds bulbs to light sources only if there are none in the vicinity; this is to ensure a flicker-free experience without having to edit meshes.
  • Incorporates Luminosity Lighting Overhaul and therefore Skyrim is Luminous can be used as a standalone, all-in-one, lighting mod.
  • Preserves the existing vanilla bulbs unlike ELFX or Relighting Skyrim which delete them. The vanilla lighting is meant to help guide you through interiors and dramatize the scene by illuminating where the artist wants to draw your attention. Skyrim is Luminous preserves the developers' vision while touching up the many light sources that were forgotten and neglected.
  • Does not make interiors pitch-black, but they are slightly darker than vanilla
  • This mod was produced entirely outside of the CK to ensure cleanliness. No wild edits, guaranteed.
Compatibility

  • Skyrim is Luminous edits existing vanilla light records and templates, so it will be compatible with most mod added locations unless the author intended for their locations to have unique lighting. In order to verify, you can look at the added CELL record. If it references a vanilla lighting template, and is set to inherit the lighting and fog colors from that template, then it is inherently compatible! Example
  • If a mod moves fires or candles that SIL added bulbs to, then there will be disassociation of light and fire. If it bothers you, it’s easy to fix. Simply load mod in xedit and delete the bulbs added by SIL for the problematic cell.
  • Likely compatible with Window Shadows if used with the Light Limit Fix for Community Shaders, though you may find certain areas are excessively bright.
  • Not compatible with RS. If you wish to use RS but enjoy the aesthetics of this mod, then download Luminosity Lighting Overhaul. 
  • Not compatible with LUX or ELFX as these mods add their own bulbs and use unique formid's that cause them to be incompatible with almost everything.

Install/Uninstall
  • Safe to install or uninstall at any time. Also safe to uninstall Luminosity midgame.
