I replaced the files from the main file with the alternate one, but windows told me to skip the files because they had the exact size and timestamp...are you sure you uploaded the correct file?
You can see the size being different before downloading, the main file has a size of 2.9mb, the optional file has a size of 2.8mb. Maybe try to download it again?
Hey, not sure what language that is but I assume the second column means "Packed Size" you can see they are different. The two versions are almost identical, except some code is commented out (not removed) in the optional file.
I downloaded it again and noticed I missed the correct folder structure, so please take the new file, it is safe to replace the main version.
If you don't mind some music cutting off like the music in the intro sequence, use the main file. Check the 'Combat music bug at Helgen' in the BUGS tab for more info.
love the idea and I'm sure it fixes the bug, but it seems to end combat music rather abruptly with no transition after a fight. Is there a way to let it transition out naturally like it's supposed to when it's not bugging?
I had it stop immediately during the vanilla start sequence where the combat music just dropped after fighting imperials in the helgen fort underground, but maybe it's my load order, idk. Fair enough though, I guess it would be a concession for this kind of thing.
I noticed the same thing on a new build with 1.6.1170 today. The first 2 combat encounters on a test run, one with a wolf and then clearing Embershard Mine. In both cases, the combat music just cut off abruptly leaving dead silence. I used this in my old build v1.6.640 and it worked great! ...Perhaps this is a v1.6.1170 thing.
Check the new optional file, that's the only solution I came up with in a short time, when I get back on playing Skyrim I'll look into a more elegant solution.
Thank you for the more compatible alternative. I'll download it and keep it as a spare while I continue to use this latest DLL version for as long as it works and is maintained. DLL's may be more efficient in game, but they are a major roadblock with cross version compatibility. We've lost so many good mods and mod authors in the Update vs DLL war over the versions. A papyrus based version of all of these DLL reliant mods is a good safety feature to have, just in case.
Why is it named "CombatMusicFixNG" can I rename it to "CombatMusicFix" ? I have dTry Utils AE that is not working with 1170 version and it has "CombatMusicFix" that's why I am asking.
one thing i notice that happens a lot is the opposite, the non-combat music keeps playing together with the combat music during some fights, maybe something similar to this mod could be made, to cut the default music on combat start

It's alright than, was just concerned, because I know, that nexus has sometimes hic hups during file uploads =)
And what do you think? Which is the better? Your original mod or the new uploaded Only At Save Load mod?
