Since all current gamepad controller mods are incompatible ,and many seem to be abandoned ive uploaded a do it yourself version of the compatibility fix here so modders can apply the fix to any that they use.
1.6.1170 update made 2 changes to the keybindings in the Creations Menu, although the patch notes doesnt say why.The steam wrapper(API integration) was also added back since they forgot this with the 1130 update. So not a good idea to stay with 1130 version.
For some reason my cursor isn't showing up at the character creation menu with this fix. I use Racemenu. Not a huge deal but I can't figure out how to reach the presets menu with a controller.
I dont use RaceMenu so i have no idea what the problem is.This makes no changes to any GP++ edits,it would be better to post in RaceMenu comments section. You could also try the skyrim forums.
For some reason my camera sticks to the top or bottom of the screen if I try to control it with mousemove. It actually works fine without the fix, though I can't play with a PS4 controller. Any fixes?
Thanks, lol yes Bethesda gave us 2 hotkeys -mods such as better 360 cotroller gave us 8 hotkeys and GP++ gave us a keyboard emulator on the Dpad (80 hotkeys)Though i dont think i could remember that number of keybindings.
I tried IEquip a few years back but found the weapon switching far too slow so decided that it wasnt for me.Its a shame it was abandoned though.
I was very confused at the mod, was attempting to fix the things i wanted fixed by editing things in the gamepad.txt or whatever and i wound up ultimately just giving up and ignoring it, tried to disable the mods and now i get ctd on launch any time i have a controller connected. no controller = no crash. im afraid in my ignorance i may have altered or deleted something i shouldnt have, is there an easy fix for this?
Edit: if i have this mod enabled with or without gamepad ++ i dont get a crash even with controller, not sure if that info matters or not
This isnt a stand alone mod. You install GP++ by going to that mods nexus page and downloading all of its requirements.Once thats done you replace the contolmap text file thats part of that mods download with this one which stops the CTD. Regards editing GP++ controlmap text--GP++ has hardcoded a lot of the keybindings which means that if you try to alter them the game may not even start/crash.I would reccomend that you dont do that.
You need to go to GP++ mods nexus page and read how it works and set up hotkeys in SkUI MCM for GP++ It sounds like you have no idea.Hardcoding of bindings is nothing to do with me that was the developers decision.
Uninstall GP++ mod and do the delete/reset to defaults as on the description page will get you back to default bindings. You cant alter hardcoded bindings in GP++ controlmap, ive already told you that.
For some reason special action 2 and 3 arent workin, if anything they seem broken? they are tied to the shoulder buttons as default but for example, i use left shoulder and arrows to use the favorite menu hotkeys, it literally does nothing,
You set up hotkeys 1-8 in GP++ MCM in SkyUI This has to be done using keyboard. To assign hotkeys to favorited items you also need to use the keyboard .Should never bind anything to the Dpad directly.Use Auto Input Switch mod .so you dont need to unplug your controller. You can then save it as a profile,so you dont need to repeat everytime you start a new game.
You need to go to GP++ mod page to learn how to use it properly. The keybindings of the controller are different to the vanilla ones. Everything is working fine for me including Auto Input Switch-- i am on the latest steam version of game 1.6.1170
Lifesaver, I have been playing 1.5.97 and only very recently decided to finally update for my own sanity's sake. Gamepad Plus Plus is never leaving my load order and I've come to rely heavily on it, so this mod really saved my will to keep playing this game. Endorsed, thank you so much
Hello, I'm on a fresh install and after following the instructions, I still get an immediate CTD. Any ideas? I have not used Gamepad++ beforehand, so I hope I can get some help.
Installing through both MO2 and manually did not help.
Its been up 9 months and no other reports of this .CTD on game launch is often due to SKSE/Plugins.(wrong version, incorrectly installed) Create a new profile and install SKSE for your game version, then install fixed GP++ and all of its requirements and test. IF it works add your other SKSE mods until you find the one which is the cause. Engine fixes is mentioned in the log i would start with that-it has a convoluted install that a lot of people mess up.
