Actually I have icon packs for two of kittytail's mods done (Abyssal Tides and Abyssal Winds) but the way they create their mods requires a "dummy esp" for the icons to work with the mod pretty much, If I release like that people will complain so I am always postponing putting them on the nexus.
After I finish more of the current big project I am working on, Ill make another icon pack for one of kittytail's mods and publish them as a "3 in 1" :)
Hope it comes out soon! Love your icons and appreciate what you do :D just a headsup, I suggested to the nolvus discord to add your mod to their modpack/list and it almost seemed like they're considering it ! Hope you have a nice day
It seems to overwrite nothing.I mean that your other icon replacers overwrite a .json file present in the original mod. But Necrom does not have a .json file, only an .esp and .bsa. I don't really understand how others managed to make it work.
(I just copy and pasted most of the mod description, sorry about that) Necrom has no .json file but if you follow the instructions it should work. Just install it like you install all my other mods :)
I installed it normally and put the mods in the suggested load order in the left and right MO2 panes. The items (books and staves) works well, but the spells stay the same
This is how I add pictures (I upload them to imgur and copy the link)
As for the icons, The tentacle icon sounds like Ecskrillos tentacle icon for Necrom From what you wrote, there is most likely a mod in your load order with a .json attached that has these icons attached to them, and are basically overwriting the spell icons from my mod. From Darenii If you can, try this for me, place the "Necrom.esp" super super low in your MO2 right pane and see if the icons work. (Super low, like, dyndolod-synthesis range)
I put Necrom.esp at the very bottom of my load order, here's the icons that i get, left ones are restoration spells, right ones are alteration. Also, I use AIT, B.O.O.B.I.E.S etc...if that matters.
Your French translation ESP is running on Necrom 1.0.5, since 1.0.5, Darenii changed the EditorID names of some things. Try disabling your French translation ESP and see if the correct icons appear
Hi! I plan on doing Kittytail's stuff when I'm done with Darenii's stuff! Also, I have made icons for abyssal tides for my wheeler mod, WIO but they are just wheeler icons, not made for I4 like this mod.
(Also, I wont just make a patch that "assigns these icons to spells", I'm going to create custom/new icons for them!)
It looks like it adds the skull icon to any spell with poison damage? When i remove this line the Icons from both your mod and the other one work, but all the other poison spells from Mysticism and etc. use the generic restoration spell icon. Its also worth mentioning that the icons for the power spells work, its just the spells with poison damage.
I keep my MO load order pretty organized and definitely keep all my icon mods below I4 near the bottom of the left pane so i don't understand why there would be an override. At this point i can't believe im the only person having this problem, its probably just such a small issue nobody brings it up haha
Man, after all this the fix was just to move Necrom.esp lower. I can't believe i hadn't tried that, and i guess thats what i get for just blindly trusting LOOT lol. Thanks Darenii!
To clarify, if you put the files in the necrom folder and it does not work, you probably installed my icon mod wrong and the best course of action is to reinstall necrom completely to revert the changes.
With the Dummy ESL version, you do not have to do any manual installing, it is really just "plug-and-play" and there are really no downsides, this is why I recommend the the Dummy ESL version.
No, it will not work like that, because there is no "Icon framework" included with necrom, I had to create the "Icon framework" via a empty ESL plugin.
It is complicated but in this case, if there is no esp/esl/esm to accompany the icon files and framework, it will not work at all!
Just install the Dummy ESL version like my other mods and place the empty esp below necrom in the M.O. right pane and it will work.
Ah, now i understand after checking other darenii spell mods and necrom. Necrom basically missing skse folder with json file and that's why you used esl. I was curious about it tbh, otherwise, I'm fine with esl.
I don't know what it is about Necrom, but i can't get icons working. I've tried both versions of this, and the other Necrom I4 icon mod. No matter what i try i can only ever get the generic poison "green skull" icon, even on a new game. Its weird because it worked before the most recent update for Necrom. Your Icon mods for all of Derenii's other mods work fine.
Hi, I was looking at the other I4 Necrom page to see if other people are having similar problems, I think B.O.O.B.I.E.S messes with necrom so place this mod below B.O.O.B.I.E.S in M.O. Left pane and Right pane (or as low as it can go really)
Yeah i tried that, and even uninstalling B.O.O.B.I.E.S and some other icon mods all together. Id be inclined to think it has something to do with Necrom itself as the icons worked before the most recent update, even with B.O.O.B.I.E.S, but it seems im the only one having this issue lol
It sounds like there is a json file that is winning the conflict every time, the json file is basically the thing that assigns the icons to the spells
Go to the place on your computer where you keep all your mods, and search "json" in the search bar to see what jsons you have in your mod folders, this (hopefully) should make things more clear :)

Good luck retranslating the mod!
The mod Abyssal Tides Magic has the same Apocrypha theme. Can I kindly request a patch that assigns these icons to spells from that mod?

Edit: Sorry for making a new comment about this
I4 loads .json files according to your load order by looking at the name: xxx.esp = xxx.json
In this case, the I4 esp is lower in the load order then Necrom.esp and/or the dummy esp from this mod.
Thank for your mods, I use them all)
This is why I say only use the no-esl version if you have no more plugin slots
