After a long time me and Murderwrath finally decided to “officially” port our mods The Oblivion Realms Serie - Gate of Solitude and Morthal Pain to Skyrim Special Edition / Anniversary Edition. So, this is the merging of the first 2 Chapters of ORS (The Oblivion Realms Serie) published a long time ago for Skyrim LE:

1 – The Gate of Solitude
2 – Morthal Pain

Still divided into 2 subsequent Quests, having no imposed timer between one another; you can take your time doing whatever you want before tackling the second part, which you probably will.

You will face Dremora hordes in the wasted Realms of Oblivion (actually combat heavy).

In order to start the first Quest it is best to approach Solitude from the road outside. If you want to fast travel, it is advised to get to Katla’s Farm instead of Solitude itself, and then just walk toward the city gates.

The adventure is quite big, divided in different lands and dungeons, so it is likely to take a while to beat it (5+ hours minimum). It is designed to be hardcore under every aspect (combat, environment, lighting and so on) and there are not going to be hand-holding mechanics in place (no quest markers!). You have to be prepared to die, try different strategies and look around carefully. If you are easily frustrated, you're probably not going to enjoy it. Failing the Quest means death, you have been warned.

There are plenty of secret areas and rewards scattered around, from easy to spot to insanely hard to get by. However, even if secret areas are indeed a big help, they are not essential whatsoever in order to accomplish the journey.
We do encourage you to post pictures of your experience on this page.

Introduction : There are rumors of something off happening recently around Solitude. People say to have been witness to unusual flashing sunsets in the middle of the day and night as well. Just in a blink of an eye the skies turn red, only to return perfectly back to normal an instant later. Folks are growing restless after these episodes, sensing a lurking danger yet to be revealed. Someone spoke the name of the Dragonborn, as the one fit for checking into this matter...

Level 50 character is the minimum in order to have the Quest to start.

You need a powerful character with top armor, weapons and amulets. An actual champion or you won’t make it.

Beside equipping yourself with potions, spare gears and whatnot, it is advised to check if your current equipment is going to fit the task; otherwise you’d have to carefully craft something appropriate before venturing into the unforgiving Oblivion. Same goes for your followers; having them carrying just scrap loot won’t have them survive.

We tested the Port with Skyrim latest update. It works with 1.6.x AE (even if you haven't bought the AE upgrade). We have not tested on version 1.5.97 (before AE) and we can’t be of assistance if you have that version and get bugs and/or glitches. You’re warned.

Using cheat codes might kill you. Not a bug. There are mechanics in place that are going to accidentally or purposefully kill you if you cheat your ways around; beside the possibility of irreversibly breaking things. So, before doing anything that you might regret later do save your game at the very least. If you find things way too hard for your taste you can resort to using godmode (tgm), it will work as intended combat-wise, but you can still get killed or stuck if you do things you won’t be capable of at all playing “normally”. We do strongly suggest to Backup your latest Savegame files before installing.

Some ENBs or Lighting mod might affect Visuals around, specially where ISMs (Image Space Modifiers) are involved. Since we cannot predict or balance everything according to the thousand customizations available out there, we simply didn’t care. No worries though, these things are just visuals, as we said, with no real consequences. You just won’t see the ambient and/or events how we meant those to be, but things would work regardless.

Be careful with the OBH (Oblivion Black Heart) item. Do not use it to recharge your magic weapons or you may have CTD. Also, do not drop “Oblivion Stones” on the ground out of your inventory or Havok is gonna get real crazy.

No conflicts have been found so far, except for mods altering vanilla Dremora Race which can just mess up things or break altogether (depending on your load order).

This adventure is not designed taking into account any third party mod that makes you capable of flying or “super-climb”. You’d basically ruin things yourself, but hey, you're the master of your game.

Followers can’t reach you in certain areas. That is normal. You are going to get them back later.

NOTE (about the missing “S” in the word “Serie”)

At the time of Skyrim LE version mods, many people suggested us to correct the main title with the word “Series” instead of “Serie” (without the final “s”) but we never wanted to fix it, since it is not an actual full-fledged mistake. Being Italian, in our native language the same word with the same meaning solely differs by a single letter; so we decided to keep it as a national trademark. Simple as that, even if it sounds odd.

CHAPTER 3?

If you’re wondering if we’re working on the next chapter, the answer is simply Yes!

The final chapter (Ascendant Misery) originally meant for LE is now in development from scratch on SE platform and it is going to be massive (meaning no ETA in the slightest).
