I've added DTA patches for both the leather mounted antlers and the mounted skull antlers to the Optional Files section. Both files were created by Mur4s4me. Please give them some kudos for their excellent work. Thanks, Mura!

Thanks to all of you who've downloaded and endorsed the mod! It means a lot. Today, I've uploaded new versions of the mounted antlers mesh. There are two variants to choose from (I know that's just asking for a BOS version!), either a version where the antlers are mounted on a leather base or a full skull version. Check out the gallery pics for a better idea of how they look. I'm not sure what they were mounted on in vanilla, but it wasn't pleasant, so the base now uses whichever leather texture you have installed. I've also increased the vertices on the base to make it smoother. Be sure to install after the main mod, or you'll have purple antlers, as no textures are included. Enjoy!
Hi, Truly a great mod, it's a huge improvement from the base game (I always disliked the big antlers). However I don't have the wooden plaques behind the elk heads although I use the lastest version, any idea why ?
Hi there! Thank you! :) In answer to your question, there are two different .nifs that the game uses. One has the plaque and one doesn't. It can depend on where you are as to whether you see the plaque or not. Are you finding there aren't any plaques anywhere?
Thanks for your answer. I only checked in Riverwood, no plaques for the mounted heads in Alvor house and in the Sleeping Giant Inn. I'm going to check other places and see if I can find them
This is amazing! It would be nice to make a DTA version for B) More Realistic Mounted Antlers (Leather) and B) More Realistic Mounted Antlers (Skull). Vanilla antlers look
. Or am I stupid and just didn't find the DTA version?
This kind of thing can happen when you update/or add a mod to your load order that changes the positions of items that are baked into your save without starting a new game. A classic example of this is the throne in Solitude. Lots of mods move the throne, but if you've already visited the Blue Palace and install an overhaul, you'll often get a doubled throne. My mod doesn't have an esp, so it doesn't change the position of items and shouldn't cause this kind of thing to happen. I use both LUX and this mod and haven't seen any doubling up. Sorry, I can't be a bit more helpful. If you can give me any more info on the problem, I'll try to help further. It might be that you need a patch for Lux and a mod like JK's Sleeping Giant Inn (it looks like one of the locations in your shots).
Hello. I understand that it's a lot of work, but maybe we can hope for just a fluffy vanilla version of both male and female mounted elk heads based on GGUNIT's Wall mounted dead animals fixes with keeping their vanilla antlers intact someday? I'm presonally just not very fond of all those replacers tbh. And thanks for your work. I'm using almost all of your 'fluffy' series of mods :)
Thanks for following and downloading my mods! All my mounted trophies are based on GGUNIT'S meshes, so it probably wouldn't be too much work for me to add the shell layers to his meshes without changing the antlers. I'm a bit snowed under with patches and mods at the minute, but feel free to remind me in a week or two, and I'll see what I can do for you.
I've downloaded and installed Fluffy Wall Mounted Elk Trophies- Vanilla Antlers, put it after GGUNIT's mod in MO2, but the textures are purple in game :\ Am I missing requirements?
EDIT: ok I believe it doesn't work the way I think it does. The path to the shell texture in the nifs is identical for both male and female elks: textures\actors\elk\elkbody_head_shell.dds I've dropped the textures folder from More Realistic Fur and Antlers for Male Elks into the previously installed mod since there was no textures folder. As a result I just have identical shell-textured heads for both types of elks, but with vanilla antlers, but the heads are from MM - REAL ELKS. Is that how it's supposed to be? Sorry if that's confusing.
Hi there! Yes, you fixed it all up. I should have uploaded the file under this mod's files because then you'd already have the texture installed from the main mod, which you'd have been overwriting. My bad. I've now re-upped the file with the textures folder included.
Update. I've uploaded the file to this mod's Optional Files too, so people install the main mod (with the textures) and then overwrite with the vanilla style nifs. I clearly needed more coffee this morning! Sorry for the confusion.
Hi, I just wanted to know, if there is any way to implement the improved male horns onto the hagravenhousebones01.nif? It is a construct you can commonly see in the Reach or like the .nif suggests, around Hagravens.
Hi there, yes, that's possible. I'll need to get permission to use assets from the HPP, too, though, as their mammoth ribcage is the best quality one on the Nexus. I'll see what I can do.
+1 to making this an elk animal mod. i have trophy animal heads disabled for glitch/clipping reasons but love the work you do with antlers and would hate to simply not partake.
No, although I also use that mod of yours. I’m talking about the models in the trophy room as part of the hearthfire dlc. https://elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/Trophy_Room Bears of the North fluffs up the bear trophy, but I haven’t found anything for the sabercat or troll trophy.

I need it for FPS reasons.

More informative console points to the Lux patch for that particular inn. Any help would be appreciated.
