1) Safe to install mid-game. Recruit and then speak with Teldryn, quest only starts in Raven Rock. I have built this quest in a way that will keep it conflict-free for any other AI or dialogue mod you have installed. Yes, it's compatible with everything and there are no edits to existing quests or factions.
2) Upon completion, this quest will add the player to the married faction. This will prevent the vanilla marriage quest from firing, because your character will be recognized as officially married. If you're already married, don't even try and start this quest, or find a way to divorce of your current spouse instead.
3) This quest does not add Teldryn to the married faction. If he's added to the married faction, he loses all of his dialogue. Instead, I have rebuilt everything separately (ceremony, new dialogue lines, buffs, rings, Homecooked Meal) so you can be married to him without having to worry about him going silent. As stated on the modpage, I recommend My Home is your Home to make live him with you after you're wed.
4) You will not get the Lover's Comfort buff upon sleeping, but you will get the Lover's Embrace buff (+10% exp increase for 8 in-game hours) by hugging your spouse. Please refer to the description for more details about the hugging animation.
I didn't give him the option of becoming a merchant. I didn't dispose of the appropriate dialogues to recreate this feature. Who needs a housewife that earns half a coin every week anyway? ... You're adventurers, right?
5) Creating a quest is hard work, therefore I appreciate any kind of constructive feedback. Have fun, and if you're looking for something which does not involve romance and stuff, check my adventure quest mod Teldryn Serious.
Finally achieved my Skyrim dream. Spawned into the Retching Netch as a khajiit in a mud stained dress after Mara HEAVILY implied I was scum, player.additemed some cash, hired Teldryn, immediately told him I loved him, got married in a hilarious ceremony.
great mod! after i installed it tho, he is acting weird. i run nethers follower framework , and instead of behaving in accordance with their sandboxing he keeps walking away and then teleporting back to me when he is too far away.
I'm stuck at the part of the wedding ceremony, not sure what to do. Like I'll go outside to the map marker, but nothing happens. Also if I go down the stairs from the temple, Teldryn follows me and the priests go back inside, but once I approach the stairs, they all teleport back to the door of the temple
I seem to have found an odd solution to the death hug bug
First of all make sure your save is facing Teldyrn
Second go to https://www.afkmods.com/index.php?/topic/4035-here-is-a-fix-for-the-death-after-hug-bug/ (hopefully this link works) and download the file
next go into Vortex and go to "Install From File" in the mods menu under mods and install the rar/zip(whatever the hecc it is) from there
last go through with the scene
NOTE: temporarily disable conflicting mods and reenable them and disable/delete the hugbugfix after(this is what I did)
don't be too alarmed if you both are tposing this happened to me and after the scene/conversation I quick saved then exited to desktop to do the above note and when I went back into the game everything was back to normal from what I can tell. It may be a different fix for different peeps but I hope this helps at least someone XD.
Ps, I hope this comment doesn't bother Undriel another Ps, sorry about any grammar or spelling errors
I wish we could marry other Dunmer characters in accordance to Dunmer ceremony, but I guess it's impossible anyhow, since you can't take mainland companions to Solstheim without mods.
I can't give nearly enough kudos to you for making this. This mod is seriously impressive. You clearly went through a lot of work to make it mesh seamlessly into the game and give us all the snarky mercenary husband of our dreams. I also loved the little addition of the unique area (and the stamina potions lol). 10/10.
Undriel you did such a great job with expanding Teldryn and getting the player involved in learning his past. I was totally blown away. In my opinion you've made Teldryn the most viable follower. I do hope you have future plans to expand upon this mod. You have a great creativity! Thank you for giving me hours of enjoyment. xx USChoirGirl
I dismissed Teldryn to complete the Boethia quest where you kill your follower so I sacrificed Lydia. I have two of the Hearthfire homes and the Breezehome but he isn't in any of those. I also checked Severin manor and he's also not there nor in or around the Wretching Netch day or night. As a last measure, I checked the temple in Solstheim where the ceremony takes place as well as the cave you go to afterward. Does anyone know where he goes after you dismiss him?
Thanks alot for your hard work, but seems weird that he would still charges you 500 septims every time you ask him to follow, is that possible to add him to vanilla follower faction instead of hireling factions after you married him? Would that affect the dialogue he had? Thanks alot!
I agree with you, but I don't want to edit him / his dialogue directly, since it could cause issues. I did edit his dialogue in the past which made him repeat his "I wanna go east" random line almost endlessly, which became a meme at some point.
