I was super inexperienced at modding when I first got smp I had some requirements missing and other mods overwriting etc, it took me a while to get it all working right but now I can't go back, it's not nearly as hard as it sounds it just takes a bit of trial and error and when it does finally work it's absolutely worth it!
The problem for us - those who don't use HDT-SMP - is that for installing it, there are like, more 10 other requirements and I'm not risking my modding list of +400 mods over some physics s#*! because some modder said so.
That's why we're working with some people to make non-HDT-SMP versions of all the mods that require them.
I say this as someone who didn't use SMP for the same reason: it is not hard at all, though granted I think that's mostly because of the mod FSMP - Faster HDT-SMP. This mod is a very simple install that, as long as you actually read things, is just one or two steps beyond installing it with Vortex or MO2. I would very highly recommend taking the plunge, as long as you have the GPU to run it.
I'm so glad I got back into modding this game, your work is AMAZING! I cannot wait to see what else you make! I'd love to see more armors based on the people we encounter more often so that your armors can be seen more throughout any given playthrough!
