Loving this ENB, but one problem: in some interior areas, such as Alternate Start cell, Arcadia's Cauldron, any inn or almost any location with a campfire indoors, I experience a weird bloomy light effect that hurts eyes a little bit and makes all NPCs seem to have oil-covered skin. It doesn't break the game, but I wonder if there is something I can do about that. Change something in .ini files maybe?
edit: It's kind of awkward to post, but all it took to fix the problem was to just set EnableBloom=false in enbseries.ini. Although the graphics seem to become slightly, but noticeably worse this way.
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I have redone the exterior colors to make it more *comfy* as it were. Since there are many different weather templates involved now, a more muted colour grading is better in the long run.
The screenshots are from the sunny weather template. The cloudy/overcast days will not be as bright.
1. This one is a tricky problem. Basically, I have assigned the very bright sunlighting to clear weathers. If I tone it down to normal vanilla value, snow will look alright, but the rest of the landscape in other areas will look as dim as vanilla. This makes the whole thing not look like a clear sunny day at all. I will try to find a good sweet spot for compromise. The other solution is using ENB adaptation, but this creates more issues than it solves. 2. This looks as intended. The source of the light is on the other side. I suppose I can make nights have more uniform brightness. As it stands now, how well-lit nights are will go down progressively depending on weather. The current order is Clear>Cloudy/Foggy>Overcast/Drizzle>Rain. The clear sky weathers are all considered sunny for my ENB, except one particular weather code has lower than normal direct lighting value at night. 3. This is one unfortunate consequence of trying to force snowcover as-is into NLA. I will release an optional file without the snowcover.
The correct way to fix 2 and 3 would be changing the actual weather values in NLA with CK. It's not impossible to learn and I could in theory do it, but (a) it's a huge time sink, I am talking two whole weeks non-stop (b) NLA is not my IP, so there's a permissions redtape.
4. Don't use wet body textures for general gameplay. There are three separate rain-related templates, and each of them have incremental specularity. Whether that plays nice depends on which textures are you using. Mine was tweaked around vanilla textures with Skyrim HD-2k landscapes only. I will tone the specularity down in the next update, as it does look a bit overdone at times.
As for Sky colour, all weathers have very different values. So you will have to refer a screenshot.
I have tried to implement some of the changes you stated. I cannot find the the pulsating candle issue, but interior light spread has been toned down to make it more even. I will try to make it ELFX-friendly next, as I have developed a fondness for interior lighting in Antique Dragon ENB.
Something tells me that horizontal, semi-transparent squares aren't supposed to be littered about in the wilderness. I've messed with all major options, tried reinstalling a few times, and applied your mod to both the latest version of ENB and the one listed on the download page (v262). But still, no joy here.
The only major change I've made in the .inis included in your mod is changing UseDefferedRendering=true to UseDefferedRendering=false as this line's been causing a slew of issues for me. But that's another topic.
Normal ENB works fine, no issues there.
Could you lend a wise word or two? I'd love to get this thing working. Thanks.
Turning deferred rendering off disables a swath of ENB features. You will most certainly run into graphical glitches like this with UseDefferedRendering=false. I can't tell you which shader exactly is causing this blocky stuff. If I had to guess, I would say Image-based Lighting or Mist. So you could try disabling those before running the game from enbseries.ini. Even assuming that works, it would be a band-aid solution. Plus disabling mist will really neuter the intended atmosphere of the ENB. You should troubleshoot with DeferredRendering on instead. What issues does it cause specifically?
Also, try ENB v292. I was supposed to update the description, but I forgot.
This is a problem persistent with this ENB, nothing wrong with your settings. This was the first time I made an ENB, and it has no custom weather support - so basically it uses the same [SKY] settings as the normal/cloudy weather, which is too bright for foggy/overcast weathers. That said, I will be picking it up sometime this month. After making three major ENB presets after this, I am much better-equipped to fix it. Meantime, you can try either of the following if you are still reading this: 1. Disable Adaptation from ENB GUI. 2. Try the new Cinematic Preset V2 from my other ENB - very close in terms of performance and aesthetics (you can get a non-black bars ini in the optional files). https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/99612?tab=files
Now THIS is a performance friendly enb.. And it looks gorgeous absolutely love it never thought i would finally play skyrim with enb.. very nice work :)
This is the first Mod I'm actually going to leave a comment on. Endorse this man. God work. I've tried so many other "performance" enb's with little success. Always wound up dropping me from 50-55fps down to 30fps. This ENB not only looks really nice, but I can run it with a solid 45-50 fps. I can't thank you enough for this ENB.
Yo, i downloaded this mod and everything is too dark, the sky is too bright and it doesnt look like anything ive seen in the pictures. How do i make the game look like it is in those pictures?
Hey, hey, hey. I have a couple of questions if I may. The first one would be: how do you enable letterboxing and the second would be what was the last thing that you removed (effect wise) from this.
The first one's easy to answer. You get an effect.txt file from here (http://enbseries.enbdev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3274), and put it in the enbseries folder. After that, you boot up the game, press Shift+Enter for the ENB GUI, and in the window that has options like 'enbeffect.fx', 'enbprepass.fx', 'enbbloom.fx' (all in caps) go to the 'effect.txt' option and find the letterbox effect from there. You can also adjust/toggle a bunch of other effects, including the letterbox ratio. I recommend disabling stuff like lumasharpen and grain since they are enabled by default. After you are done adjusting, hit 'save configuration' on the first ENB window.
As for the second one, this was the first ENB I made and I made use of very few effects. Back when I originally made this, I did not tinker with most effects (SSS or SSAO). This only has sunrays, shadows, mist, and bloom enabled IIRC. I am currently working on an Oblivion ENB, and I probably won't get back to Skyrim in a couple months. This ENB does not have customized weather settings, so feel free to get the latest binary (just the d3d9 and enbhost) and play around with the new effects in the GUI. There will be some fps drop post-315, but the new effects themselves mostly work fine. Just don't enable dawn and dusk, as the binary I originally made it on did not have those.
I normally do not use an enb, I prefer to spend my frames on other things. However, this is one I plan on keeping. It's so "light" that theres barely any fps loss at all. This is clear, unfussy and the results look great.

Your ENB-thingy looks great. Stunning. Fantastique. I'd love to use it in my games. However I've encountered a bit of a roadblock.
Would you take a look at this?
