I know this is asking alot since the mod was uploaded a year ago and never updated but hear me out. This mod seems really cool and i would love to try it out but I can't for a few reason. First of all, I mostly play on Special Edition rather than Old Rim (i play both because of different mods) So what I was wondering was if there was a way for someone to port it to special edition (or a tutorial or someone who could help me out because i've always wanted to learn to mod but each time I try I lose patience). Secondly I use a Special Edition mod called Hell's Ebony Warrior Brimstone edition. This mod makes the Ebony warrior unfair in terms of unmoded skyrim but actually about equal to you if you have Ordinator, Apocalypse or other mods that have a big power creep. So what I was (once again) wondering was if someone could make a compatibiity patch for it (or a tutorial or someone who could help me out because i've always wanted to learn to mod but each time I try I lose patience). I don't expect mutch but id be willing to try out doing it myself (with permission).

I think the mod is good, just want a more unique armor for him (maybe an redguard style ebony armor), but my reguards are that he is in...sovngarde...and he is a redguard, and i know, tsun lines about the dragonborn, even if he is not an nord, but he is the DRAGONBORN, and he not only saved tamriel but also saved sovngarde from alduin's s***, so he having an exception for go to sovngarde isn't a surprise, and the ebony warrior did nothing more to be worthy to go to sovngarde, only just sending more people to there, but idk, it's just my opinion, great mod and idea tho

hi therem thanks. i unique armor would be real cool but im not skilled in this stuff, i asked 2 people from the nexus for there resoures but they did not answer so its a no for now.
as for the sovngarde thing. i asked on reddit what they would want from this mod and the ebony warrior in sovengard showing up was the most requested thing so i added it.
still planning to update this mod one day, soonTM

Here's a copy of my own patched version that I use in my game. May be useful for adding crafting records, etc., and missing keywords, and restoring his missing perks, and yadda-yadda: download from Mega (link updated 2022-01).

    ReadMe:

Ebony Warrior Overhaul 1.0 Tweaks 1.2
original mod by DaddySmurf2nm; tweaks by Darklocq
    2019-03-25

This is just a tweaked version of EbonyWarriorOverhaul.esp (as of the original mod's 1.0 version, 2019-03-23); you still need the textures and meshes from the original.

    It does the following:

    * Restores shouts, perks, and other stats of the original Ebony Warrior, so that the version provided by EWO isn't weaker. Accounts for tweaks done by Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch, so EWO doesn't undo them. New powers added by EWO are also retained, so he's more kick-ass than before.
    * Creates tempering recipes for all his gear. (Hell, if you're over-powered and still find him easy to beat, you could give yourself copies with the console, go temper them up to Legendary level, with Fortify Smithing and Well Rested active, then pickpocket this upgraded gear back to him.)
    * Creates non-enchanted versions of his unique gear (sword, shield, amulet, ring). See above: If you're endgame already, you could dual-enchant all this gear, too, and give it back to him for a harder fight.
    * Creates crafting recipes to create that gear, which can only be used after the quest to beat him is complete. This way, if you like the look of this gear but need different enchantments, you can have your way, without console cheats. Dress up all your housecarls like this, whatever.
    * Adds copies of each of these four unenchanted items to Ebony Warrior's "Cheese Chest" (and removes most of the truly excessive number of cheese wheels in that stash; no one is that obsessed with cheese). This is for testing, some extra loot, and for people who hate crafting.
    * Gives his items more sensible names (they're no longer "My" this and that, but "Ebony Warrior's"), and sound a little more impressive in some cases, e.g. "Ebony Warrior's Hardened Soul" instead of "My Broken Soul" (who wants a cuirass with "Broken" in the name?).
    * Added missing keywords to some items.
    * Gave him back his enchanted Ebony Bow instead of a plain one. He gets a few more arrows, too.

    New in 1.1:

    * Adds missing textures for the sword and shield (both in the ESP, as Texture Set records, and in the NIF files).
    * Removed the stray female model entry for the shield's ARMA record (shields only use one model).
    * Cleaned up some inconsistent object EditorIDs.
    * Added metadata to the ESP's file header.

    New in 1.2:

    * Overrides the vanilla DOFT (default outfit) record for the Ebony Warrior to use the new gear. There was a new DOFT for this stuff, but he wasn't using any DOFT at all in EWO. He now uses the original record for that, but with EWO gear in it.
    * Also puts the EWO gear in his inventory directly, in case of mods that mess with outfits.
** If this causes double drops when he dies, let me know.
    * Fixed Non-playable flag being on a bunch of the items (including craftable copies, d'oh!). I didn't notice it was on or would have fixed that in 1.0. These issues were caught by qwertypol012.

Did not change anything else, including things like addition of CCOR/WaFR keywords, nor messing with his appearance.

I do not consider this a mod, it's just a copy of my own convenience patch, and will not be given a Nexus page. I'm providing it mostly for DaddySmurf2nm's own use, e.g. some easily imported crafting and texture-set records. All rights and credits remain those of DaddySmurf2nm, and if he wants me to, I'll be happy to remove this from Mega.

Glad to help. I would guess that the texture issues slipped in because you had the original Nico and Farinelli mods installed (the textures that the sword and shield meshes were calling from inside them), so you weren't seeing the day-glow fuchsia "missing texture" color. Anyway, I have worked out gear modding pretty well (most of my Skyrim time seems to consist of decorating followers!), but don't know a thing about building/landscape changing, so I can answer questions about the former but not the latter.

      @Darklocq
Have you actually tried your tweaked version in the game?
I asked because after checking your esp, i found that the new gears were not properly worn by EW. They were referred by the new EW outfit record, but that exact outfit record was not referred by EW's NPC record. If this is the case, i'm not sure if they'll actually be worn by EW or not.
On top of that, some gears (and weapons too) were flagged as "non-playable" and "can't drop". I'm not sure if this affects anything in the game, but as far as i know, vanilla gears (and weapons) which are meant to be usable by the player don't have these flags.

I did fix these "issues" for my esp btw, also did some improvements

Edit: Also it should be noted that your tweaked version still requires the file from this mod (DaddySmurf2nm's) because yours doesn't have any textures inside

Well, sure, it doesn't have the textures; it's just a patch file. As I said somewhere, my own playthrough isn't at the stage where I can trigger the EW to challenge me, so I did not notice any equipping/dropping problems. I don't recall touching outfit records, EW's default outfit entry, or anything about playability flags, so those would likely be issues in the original mod. I'll fire up TES5Edit and have a look-see, though I would think DaddySmurf2nm has an update planned (the purpose of my patch, other than for my own game, was for DaddySmurf2nm to use as a cheat-sheet for resolving some issues; it's not meant as a permanent replacement).

I noticed there're some edits to Abandoned Prison cell. The .esp adds many jewelry statics (amulets & rings) into the cell. So what's this about? Is it really necessary?

Also, some deleted navmeshes in the worldspace records may need to be fixed.

Hey, noticed 2 small problems (they're not technically bugs):
    1) The Ebony Warrior doesn't have any of the altered armor and jewelry on him when fighting except the sword and the shield.
I checked out the file and apparently, you made a new outfit for him but didn't change it to the new one on the NPC itself (the Ebony Warrior in Sovngarde does have it, though).
    2) The new items - sword, shield, ring, and necklace - don't have their textures displayed. I checked their respective NIF files: for the sword and shield, it's because of incorrect texture paths; for the ring and necklace - the textures use absolute path instead of relative (I have Skyrim installed in a different location than the Steam folder, that's why).
Just wanted to let you know, great mod!

Let's take the amulet for instance:
Go to NiTriShape -> BSLightingShaderProperty -> BSShaderTextureSet (the area that contains all the texture paths).
The 1st texture line, for example, says:
      "c:\pc games\steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\data\textures\ebony warrior overhaul\ring and amulet\ebonyamulet.dds"
      which is an absolute path.
To make it relative you change it to:
      "textures\ebony warrior overhaul\ring and amulet\ebonyamulet.dds"
      Basically, remove everything before "textures"

Yeah, that's fixed by an earlier mod. The perk was bugged, so that you insta-died something like 9 times out of 10, or worse, which just made dealing with the EW a big pain in the butt (a poor-odds dice roll instead of an honest fight). Now that I'm aware of that patch, I'll have a look at it and see if it can be integrated (I guess if you use the current release version of this mod, it doesn't matter, but the patching I was doing on it last week [see earlier post] would benefit from this other fix, and it would no longer inspire a desire to remove the perk from him entirely).

Wait, so the one shoot yourself perk is a bug, not a feature? Never heard about that, daim.

I will ofc investigate this mod and see if i can copy the bug fix into my mod. If so the perk will return in updates

I saw a video on youtube that you can kill Ebony warrior w/ Mehrunes' Razor
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pw6yBzHqf0
I think you should add new immunities like no one hit kill (or other etc), There are also exploits that makes the Ebony Warrior look easy like in this video
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnaRAxhGKQY&t=74s
I don't know if they're patch, but its good if you can't make those nasty moves to make this final fight great.
I'm not really well knowing about Skyrim I just played, I hope you like my thoughts :)
P.S. Please don't remove his Helmet it because I think its sorta mysterious effect that we don't know what he looks like, and pls retain his height if you're thinking about changing it.

thanks for that info, however i dont feal like fixing every single ingame exploid. if someone feels the need to do something like that it cant be helped. i will not lower his height and he will keep his helmet for the fight. i also think it adds to his mysteria. but when u find him in sovngarde than he is without helmet

FWIW, none of Nesusan's (60789) or lKocMoHaBTl's (21705) or testiger2's (86134) Ebony replacers were posted with any reuse restrictions, so you're free to use them with credit without getting permission first. I agree with michelnewatoblivion that testiger2's is the best-looking. However, the "empty helm" look of both testiger2 and lKocMoHaBTl sets is a little weird; the "show the face" trick used in Nesusan's would be cool to integrate. That seems to be a separate stand-alone download. I don't know if it has to be done on a per-NPC basis or what. I've downloaded the files and will have a look in their guts.

When people have a restriction that you can't reuse their assets without permission first, it says so under "Permissions and credits" (the collapsible box on the main mod page). Sometimes people skip that and include reuse restrictions in the main text on the mod page, and in one case I've seen someone do it with a sticky post at the top of a mod's Posts page, and in still others it's in the ReadMe file in the mod archive. I've looked in all four places, and Nesusan imposed no restrictions. Given that it's just some tweaking of the vanilla meshes with Outfit Studio, that makes sense, anyway (the underlying resources aren't Nesusan's, but Bethesda's).

I looked into what Open Face Guard Helmets is doing, and it looks like as long as you remove the Head flag from a helm's ARMA and ARMO record, the face will be visible under it; just keep it as Hair (also used by hoods) and Circlet, and maybe also Ears if you think the ears might clip through it. The ARMA reccords for Khajiit versions of helms usually have the Ears flag checked on for this reason, and it's also used on some human, elf, and orc helm models when they are tight-fitting. Some helms also use the Long Hair flag, which suppresses any display of hair, even behind and below. I'm not sure if this helm would need that. I guess it depends on whether hair clips through it and looks bad when tested on various NPCs. As an experiment, I'm going to turn the Long Hair flag off on all the helms in my game and see which ones look crappy. Ha ha. Until now, I've been using circlets only, on my followers, because they all look like bald chicks if you put helms on them, even open-faced ones. So, we'll see. Either it's better with their hair coming out from under the helms, or the hair clips all the time and looks terrible.

PS: On second thought, I actually also like Nesusan's version for the EW. All the jagged angles in it are pretty tough-looking. testiger2's looks kinda more elegant. I'm using that one as my game-wide replacer now (had been using something else but didn't end up liking it very much).
