About this mod

This is a simple needs mod where your needs have a higher impact in case you neglect them. It also includes an optional feature that adds drug (skooma and sleeping tree sap) effect and dependency.

It aims to add immersion to the game, forcing the player to buy or hunt for food and water, otherwise they will suffer a really slow death.

OVERVIEW

This is my first script mod. I decided to create it because, for some reason, I tried three needs mods and none of them worked. And what a better way to learn scripting mod other than writing a need mod?

I always found food and drinks on Skyrim useless, why waste money and carry them when they only add a few insignificant benefits? Why sleep if you can go n numbers of days in a roll awake doing quest. The worst you will need is wait a few hours till a shop opens.

This mod aims to fix it while bringing immersion to the game.



DESCRIPTION

Each game hour the hunger, thirst and sleep needs increases. The default values are respectfully 4, 6 and 4 (half when sleeping, except for sleep which don't increases). Once it reaches to a determinated value, their needs will advance to the next stage. Potions affects thirst as well. You can eat ingredients by droping them from your inventory and grabing them. Read below the stages values and their effects:

THIRST (values goes to -90 to infinity)

Overhydrated (-90 or higher)

30% weakness to disease and poison
-10% movement speed

Slightly overhydrated (-55 or higher)
10% weakness to disease and poison
-5% movement speed

Hydrated (-24 or  higher)
+5% movement speed
+10% magicka, health and stamina regeneration

Slightly thirsty (24 or higher)
+10% magicka, health and stamina regeneration

Thirsty (32 or higher)
-10% magicka regeneration
-15% stamina regeneration
-20 stamina points
-10% shout recovery

Very thirsty (64 or higher)
-5 all skills
-30% magcka regeneration
-30% stamina regeneration
-20 magicka points
-40 stamina points
-40% shout recovery
-10% movement speed

Dehydrated (144 or higher) about 1 game day to get at this stage

*you will lose 0.3hp/s indiferent of your heal rate (5min 33s for a character with 100hp to die from dehydration).

**you will lose 0.025hp/s indiferent of your heal rate (33min 20s for a character with 100hp (-50) to die from starvation).
 (1h 40min for a character with 200hp (-50) to die from starvation).
 (2h 46min for a character with 300hp (-50) to die from starvation).

***if you are both dehydrated and starving you will lose 0.325hp/s + maxhp * healrate (0,7% * health regeneration). 
If your heal rate is at 25% and you have 100hp you will lose (0,325 + 100 * 0,007 * 0,25 ) =  0.5hp/s
(1min 40s for a character with 100hp (-50) to die).
If your heal rate is at 25% and you have 200hp you will lose (0,325 + 200 * 0,007 * 0,25 ) =  0.675hp/s 
(3min 42s for a character with 200hp (-50) to die).
If your heal rate is at 25% and you have 300hp you will lose (0,325 + 300 * 0,007 * 0,25 ) =  0.85hp/s 
(4min 54s for a character with 300hp (-50) to die).

Impacting Needs - DLC
Compatibility patch for all Bethesda's DLCs.

Impacting Needs - Drugs 
Drugs visual  effects and addiction. You can also produce skooma in an alchemy lab (nightshade + moon sugar). Use the potion to start cooking, it will take a few game hours and must wait for them get read before starting another production (or you will lose the previous progress). Improves their beneficial effect (skooma increases carry weight by 100 for 30min but have severe addiction withdrawn, and sleeping tree sap increases magicka, health and stamina regen by 300% for 15min, but addicition withdrawn will make you slower).



COMPATIBILITY

It is most likely to have compatibility issues with other mods that change foods, beverage, alchemy activemagiceffects and ingredients.

KNOWN  ISSUES

Fast travels and waiting only triggers need progression of 1 hour. (Which can be good if you only use fast travel when your are in hurry and/or only use wait for cell respawn).

Visual effects have an abrupt ending.

Sometimes withdrawn visual effect stage doesn't match withdrawn penalties stage.

You are free to do whatever you want with this mod (just give my fair share of credits).
I don't have time to update the mod, so if anyone wants to take over feel free to do so.

I would love to see new lore-friendly drugs added to the game.
