Same as in Skyrim Unbound, you can toggle MCM "Dragon Souls" to "Dragonborn", and this will enable harvesting dragon souls.
But it won't immediately cause Greybeards to summon you. If you haven't done Dragon Rising, just continue main story as in vanilla.
If you've done Dragon Rising already, you could use "setstage mq105 10" to force start The Way Of The Voice. Or maybe if you do "set bu_globalgreybeardsummonstory to 0", this seems intended to unlock the "greybeards call" special effect on killing first dragon (other than Milmurnir). I don't think these options were ever tested thoroughly, but the way main quest is coded I think it should work okay after that
I guess eventually I should autodetect if there is a mod adding a dragonborn npc (but so far there is no such mod yet)
Cool! I've been waiting for a mod liek this. is the Dragon Rising requirement still in place? If so could it be made toggle? like in Skyrim Unbound with options like goign directly to the Greybeards and retrieving the horn before Delphine?
not sure if that is what your question is about, but I'll try to answer
iirc this mod does not support switching to being Dragonborn after playing Dragon Rising quest as non-Dragonborn. idk maybe using console commands (one to change the global variable, one to start mq105 quest) will resume the main quest
No I mean like in Skyrim Unbound where it would let you do the main quest out of sequence like getting the Horn first or going to the Greybeards first afte rkillign yo ur first Dragon.
This mod makes "The Golden Claw" quest incompletable, because to advance it you have to learn the first shout from the word wall, something you can't do as a non-dragonborn.
the golden claw quest isn't related to the word wall at the end of the area. all you gotta do for it is kill the bandit that's tied up in the webs. you can then just turn around and go out the way you came in.
There might have been some workarounds, but that should be fixed in 1.0.1 version for all word walls.
The word walls can have a quest and stage that they advance when player gets near / learns the word. That was changed case-by-case, as some word walls should do that when player gets near, some word walls should do that when player learns the word.
That leaves only quest mods that add new word walls, but the only such mod I know of is Wyrmstooth, and it is meant for Dragonborn players anyways.
@Simtam Much appreciated, I have already completed the quest by console advancing it, but it's nice to hear that it won't be needed to be done again. One last thing if you don't mind, "Repairing the Phial" quest is completely inaccessible for non-dragonborn, because it requires "The Throat of the World" completed first in order to get the letter, and then the unmelting snow. Personally, I don't really care that much about it, but I thought I should let you know.
- if you defeat Mirmulnir as a non-Dragonborn, jarl Balgruuf will still ask you to "deal with the dragon threat" and "run to the outpost" during "Message To Whiterun". Fortunately it's not quest breaking, because there is our new dialogue option for doing civil war without main quest (either "civil war is more important than rumors of dragons" or "is it that you haven't made up your mind yet?"). Though, if you play on the stormcloak side, if you want to keep jarl Balgruuf imperial, you'll have to reply "um, nothing, my jarl, go on."
- why would you ever want to keep Balgruuf imperial while playing on the stormcloak side? if you have thane of Whiterun quest open, keeping Balgruuf imperial and winning the battle counts as 3 people assisted in Whiterun, getting Balgruuf to switch the side counts as 2 people assisted in Whiterun. (defending Whiterun on imperial side does not increase the counter. not even a discount on the purchase of Breezehome)
- the recipe note (Whiterun guard armor + 5 blue mountain flowers -> Stormcloak armor) was on the floor of the Whiterun guards basement, not on the table; it's still considered a "steal" to take it, but you don't have to take it, simply having a Whiterun guard armor in your inventory is enough to see it in the tanning rack crafting list.
- I've run into an issue during assault on Whiterun, after beating Balgruuf, Vignar appears but just stands at the doors. Going back to Windhelm to Ulfric works, with the failed quest objective "Accept surrender of jarl Balgruuf". Could be an unrelated civil war bug, still worth looking into IMHO.
"After defeating the Jarl and getting him to surrender, the quest pointer may continue to point to him, but no interaction is possible and the quest does not update.
Striking the Jarl and then paying off the bounty may fix this.
So, PC players can simply stop the scene with "stopscene 20fa1". Hitting Jarl may stop it, too, so long as Ralof is still nearby - Everyone else involved is marked in this scene as "pause on combat".
Why this bug ever happens at all - that seems to be tricky....
Okay, everything is fine with this. It wasn't really end-to-end testing, I used "setstage mq103 1" when testing, and apparently it leaves mq102b still running, and Ralof was deemed involved in some other scene from that quest, thus preventing the surrender scene from actually starting. "setstage mqxxx 1" is known to be harmful on stormcloak side.

2022-05-16: removed dependency on AS:LAL. tested with "Extensible Alternate Start", should be useful with "Alternative Perspective" as well

Plus there's been some new "Extensible Alternate Start" released yesterday.
Done!

in this aspect it is more similar to In Your Shadow or You Are Not The Dragonborn, rather than Skyrim Unbound
