Okay, I'm a noob when it comes to editing this ini. Can somebody explain to me the settings please, especially the damage and effect chances. Like, can I go above 1.0? does 1.0 at chance mean the effect triggers every time I hit the part? what about the damage mult? what kind of calculations does it make? I worte 0. for alomst all of them and I still get criticals way to frequently
And a bonus question. How do I make the notifications custom, so that the name of the enemy I hit doesn't appear? Only what I wrote in the quotes appear.
Hello there. There is EffectTypeArms=96 row in ini file. but what is 96? you didn't add its meaning to the list :) There is only 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128. Is that actually 16?
It immediately became an essential mod for me, making the fights much more interesting. I've been using it for almost 3 years, it's in all my games and no crashes. Huge thank you for this which is undoubtedly one of the 5 most important mods on my list.
YES! Thank you very much, my fine sir! I just came over from the old Locational Damage mod, and I'm happy to see one that does the same things, but doesn't require an ESP.
The others both use ESP plugins and scripts. This uses SKSE so you won't have to sacrifice a load order slot or experience combat script lag. This alongside Wildcat is a pretty great lightweight combo.
Why is damage to the heart set to 0 in the .ini by default? Does heart simply mean "chest"?
Also, the 3 effects at the end of the file (decrease weapon speed and movement, and increase spell charge time) are all set to last for "360". How long is "360"? Certainly it can't mean seconds (6 minutes). Milliseconds (.36 seconds) is too short. I looked through the source files in the LE version but couldn't figure out what the time was.
I believe the heart is set to 0 in the .ini for balance reasons. In vanilla without any combat mods enabled its very heasy to hit the chest of humanoids as they are terrible at blocking and are generally very dumb. However, if you use ultimate combat, combat gameplay overhaul, or perhaps wildcat, setting a multiplier to the heart is not a bad idea, as the AI will effectively block you and hitting the heart will not be so easy. Ive found the heart not to be equivalent to the chest. The heart is located in the center of the chest. Therefore, hitting the chest around the belly or to the sides will not trigger a heart hit. I have not found what the timer means. I believe you are right about not being seconds, miliseconds nor minutes. I think they are intended to be seconds but are not yet well implemented. Ive just set them to very high numbers to ensure they last until my skirmishes are over.
Does this work well with Ultimate combat, vigor and wildcat? Vigor adds a threshold for armor. UC adds loctional damage but, I dont notice it much and was wonder if anyone has experience in running these mods and if so, Does this mod handle it better than UC because i might just remove Ultimate combat since it doesn't add much my other combat mods do better. Thanks for any replies
It works well, I just disabled UC locational damage in the MCM, other features are on. Vigor and Wildcat doesn't add locational damage so they'll not conflict directly, but maybe you'll need to tweak some settings to balance the game, I personally disable some features and reduce the damage of the locational damage but all depends on your load order

32 - Decrease weapon speed
+ 64 - Increase spell charge time
= 96
like in the example in the ini mentioned "For example, 6(2+4) deals damage to magicka and stamina. 0 will not do any damage."
cheers

Location Damage Overhaul and/or Basic Location Damage or should I chose one of them? (yours or from rymon23)
