This mod is part of a "series" with the goal of making the deadric artifacts a bit more interesting. I'm starting with just releasing them individually as a sort of Beta (should be perfectly playable though) with the intention of possibly tweaking them for a final grouped release.
The original Mace of Molag Bal was pretty sucky, okay really sucky. It was so lame that there is a good chance that you don't even remember what it does. This new design try's to play into the idea of Molag Bal as the harvester of souls and the lord of domination. Essentially, the mace starts out in a weak, dormant state that requires you to kill something so it can harvest that beings soul and awaken. Once awoken it is very powerful, but requires you to keep killing stuff quickly, essentially go on a killing spree, or else it will revert back to its weak dormant state.
So What Does it do:
The Mace will normally exist in its default, ugly, rusted form. In this form it is TERRIBLE! 7 Damage, slow attack speed, no enchantment, it's pretty much the worst weapon in the game. BUT, if you are able to kill something with it (or just get the killing blow with it) the Mace will harvest the soul of the slain individual, and use it to enter its awakened form.
In this Awakened form the weapon is very powerful: 36 damage, increased attack speed, Power attacks do additional damage that scale depending on how low the targets health (the weaker, or closer to dead they are, the more bonus damage the power attacks will do), and killing foes in this form will restore your health, stamina, and magicka by a percentage of that targets max values (so the bigger the target the more stats you'll restore) as well as increase your max value of these stats by 10 (capped at 100 bonus to each overall).
HOWEVER! all of these effects only last 1 minute and 30 seconds from the last time you killed something, at which point, if you fail to feed the mace's hunger, it will turn back into its rusty, bad self.
Essentially, the mace supports the play-style of a character that will, once the mace is awoken, quickly charge into battle from one enemy to the next, dominating weak foes, and using their soul to empower themselves.
As always feedback is appreciated, unfortunately I don't have the ability to properly play test all this stuff so I kinda just have to go with what feeeels right. Is the mace to easy to keep powerful? does it not feel powerful when awoken? last too short? Any other interesting ideas/ suggestions you have? let me know.
