Any feedback is welcome as this might be the beginning of a bigger project to add more businesses for you to own in Skyrim. I am open to suggestions but keep in mind that I know my skill level and that I might not be able to implement complicated features. Post them on the Suggestions box topic in the forums tab!
If you know of any business mod that is abandoned that you would like to see updated, let me know and maybe I can start a process to reach out to the mod author to attempt to fix it.
For people having issues with starting the quest (especially if you had max Smithing), I am working, among other things, on a fix so you will not need to level a skill for the quest to start but it will work on location change ( You will still need above 50 smithing)
The mod is nicely done and it is fun to play it. But: If you are role playing, perhaps with fast travel off and you are not a Nord, then this is not for you. I am currently a khajiit and my second job was to create weapons for the racists in Windhelm. I was not allowed into the city by the guards multiple times. After I got around them and gave the weapons I forged to the smith, he told me he is a proud follower of that racist Ulfric.
You are not able to see for whom your job is, before you are done with it. So you can not choose to not support the racists. This is a game breaker for me. So I'll uninstall it.
Too bad. It is really a good mod if you just want to create weapons and armor with a reason!
womp womp.. even real world vendors see through customer opinion to make the sale.. small price to pay for an otherwise great mod, if you don't want to be talked down in Skyrim, don't play as a minority. :)
Hi How many levels does the forge have and what do they do? Currently at level 3, I have an NPC for delivery and brings ores and an NPC that runs the shop when I am out. Is there anything else?
[..] I'd love to see the ability to own a restaurant or even just an inn where you can cook food. I love watching old kung fu movies and I always imagine myself being a famous cook who is best friends with the local butcher and I have an eye for the local produce farmer's daughter and I secretly practice kung fu in the back of my inn. So when a gang of kung fu bandits rolls into town, I can beat them up...wait where am I. oh. [..]
I'm now the owner of the "Felhammer Forge", "Heljarchen Farm", " Dunstad Mine", "Thief Holdout" (as a tavern) and my "Castle Volkihar" where I sell "Volkihar Blood" !
Since you're open to suggestions - having a basement that leads to an extensive mine of various random ores could be interesting.... what better place for a blacksmithing business, after all, than atop a secret mine?
Very nice thought ... so it must not be some common iron but something more secretive for ultimate and superior crafting... like Ebony or ... pssssst Stalhrim
Hi litteork, one thing about the special Felhammer weapon crafting: I played a quick testgame today for another mod, fastworded through Helgen until I arrived as a level 1 character - no perks - green-as-greenhorn-can-be in Riverwood. Now, Alvor's forge there (as well as any other forge I tried) offers me to craft quite a bunch of Felhammer stuff. For me, this feels not right. As an idea to solve this (some other mods do this in a similar way, e.g. "Cloaks of Skyrim"):
add an expert/master locked strongbox near the forge
put the key into the house on the desk
add a nice book to the box "Felhammer's magnificent blueprints" or somesuch
make all Fellhammer crafting only available, if the player has a copy of this book in his inventory
Now, the player owns the forge, takes the book, crafts what he like, stores the book away ... and nothing else is cluttering the smithing menu anymore And just in case the book is lost, you place ink and quill as a static on the sales desk in the house, and make it an activator - clicking on it and you get another book.

Update: I found him in the Bannered Mare, but all he does is drink and cant interact with him even when I take a job.

I use this one:
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/16106/? Katixas Ciderhouse Restaurant
It's just across the street from the forge
Brewing cider, cooking bread, steaks and salad, serving customers... everything you ask for

I have now a quite big commercial Empire ! :p
(I just miss a bank and it's perfect)
For "rebuilding" the Castle Volkihar and making a proper shipyard to sell blood.
Mod : "Interesting NPCs"
You can acquire the "Robber’s Refuge" (sorry I made a mistake in the name) in the Darkened Steel quest line. :p
I think I'm gonna to expand my industry in something more specific such as Skooma with "Become a Skooma Drug Lord - Skooming Skyrim" haha
Very nice thought
