LUKA PUMPKINS


This mod is based on a request for pumpkins in Skyrim & adds plantable pumpkins that can be prepared in new drinks, snacks & meals. Hearthfire is required.

The Original files contain the pumpkin texture in the first (main) screenshot, the Garden Texture files contain the pumpkin texture from the last screenshot.

As mods that add plants are incompatible with each other you have the option of downloading a LP-MPR file that contains Luka Pumpkin content as well as the additional plants from More Plants & Recipes by Rowan www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/26851 - this eliminates the need to use both of these mods plus a patch).
LP-MPR files require Hearthfire, Dawnguard & Dragonborn.


UPDATE INFORMATION

v1.3 includes more varieties of food in loot, removes the random chance of food containers being empty & ensures that they will contain an average of two - three similar foods.

Whole/raw foods, confectionery & baked goods have been added to general merchants for occasional sale - however nothing is guaranteed to be available & merchant stock will vary from visit to visit.
Carlotta in Whiterun's market stall will always sell the basic staples (berries, fruit, vegetables, flour & dairy).

In addition to alcohol inn keepers will sell a random selection of milk, pumpkin drinks, snack items & baked foods.

v1.3 LP-MPR files also include the addition of ash yams & boar meat to food loot & for sale.

Future updates will only be to LP-MPR files. These will adapt current vanilla, "Luka Pumpkin" & "More Plants & Recipes" content to all fit in seamlessly with each other, & also include recipes for general "comfort" type foods. Suggestions will be taken into consideration, but my focus will be on nutritious, hot & simple sustenance suitable for the physically active inhabitants of Skyrim's frigid climate, not delicate gourmet fare. The mod will likely be renamed to "Comfort Food", however the original pumpkin only files will remain in the Old File section.


LUKA PUMPKIN DETAILS

In addition to pumpkins this mod also adds herbs, spice & raw honey, which are used in the new recipes as seasonings & sweetener. 8 herbs can be obtained from elves ear, 8 spice from frost miriam & 4 raw honey from honeycomb. All these items can now be found in random food loot & occasionally purchased from general merchants.

Pumpkins can be planted in Hearthfire plots & will grow a plant that will yield 4 pumpkins & 4 pumpkin seeds per harvest.

Pumpkin seeds are an ingredient that can be roasted as a healthy snack or used in several pumpkin recipes.

The new drinks will restore & fortify health/stamina/magicka by 25pts, while the new foods will fortify health/stamina/magicka regeneration by 25% (the percentage rate means that they will continue to be useful even as you level up).

Drink effects will last for 1 in game hour, snacks for 2, light meals for 3 & heavy meals for 4. Effects will not stack, so if consuming more than one item with the same effect in one sitting consume the item with the highest impact last.

All of the new consumables will be compatible with "iNeed" www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/51473 & "Realistic Needs & Diseases 2.0" www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/78785, either of which will greatly enhance the immersion in your game.

Some pumpkin drinks & foods can be given to children as gifts (these are followed by a ^ in the lists below).

INSTALLATION

Before installing a new mod I recommend making a save in an interior cell at a point in your game that you are completely happy with your progress & keeping a back up copy. That way if you decide to uninstall the mod you can revert to your back up save & avoid having issues with missing content in your game.

Luka Pumpkins utilises levelled lists to increase food availability - if foods aren't appearing as they should be in random loot or for purchase you probably have other mods that edit the same levelled lists. In this case use a tool such as "Wrye Bash" to create a bashed patch - ensuring that both Relev & Delev are selected as a bash tag for your Luka Pumpkin esp before generating your patch.

If you are already using "More Plants & Recipes" in an existing game download an LP-NPR file, deactivate More Plants & Recipes, rename the esp in your LP_MPR mod folder to be exactly the same as the esp in your More Plants & Recipes mod folder, then activate your LP-MPR file.
If you are using patches for More Plants & Recipes they should continue to work, except they will not affect the Luka Pumpkin content. Please test this theory yourself as I do not use any such patches to easily test them for you.


UPDATING

To update to v1.3 you should be able to simply replace your existing Luka Pumpkin file - if you have included Luka Pumpkins in a bashed patch you will also need to rebuild the patch for the changes to become active in your game.

If updating an LP-MPR file that was used to replace "More Plants & Recipe" remember that you will need to rename the updated "Luka Pumpkins" esp to the same name as your original "More Plants & Recipes" esp.

I recommend making a save in an interior cell without any merchants, updating, then playing from that save.
