Thought this would fix a big issue on my part. Oh, but no. The author wanted a pretty ring, so now I have to install a 1.1 GB mod to use 1 KB of script. And that 1.1 GB mod requires another 2 mods, a total of TWO overhauls that I never wanted. I don't even know if the 1KB of script will even fix my issue. Now I have to dig into it with TES5Edit just to apply a different mesh and texture. Oh look, missing masters. I'll have to sort that too, then. My character doesn't even wear jewelry for looks, and my crafting system is fine, as is the currency. Bloody hell.
This is a great idea, nice job! Although, you do know you can turn off sun damage in MCM settings of Vampiric Thirst already, right? I mean disrespect but I thought it'd be a good idea to let you know in case you didn't. Still, this does look like a cool mod, and it's certainly more immersive than just turning off sun damage in MCM haha. You said you weren't sure where to put the ring in Skyrim yet and were open to suggestions, well if you don't mind, may I suggest creating a quest/set of requirements in order to obtain the ring? I feel like a ring like this could be kinda overpowered so obtaining it shouldn't be too easy. A quest where you have to do some stuff in order to obtain the ring or fix it to get it working or something like that would be pretty cool and make getting it all the more rewarding (and immersive)! Of course, you could also add an option to buy the ring (for a fair price, of course) or an option for lazier players to just get the ring automatically/easily. ;)
Hey, I'm gonna necro this. The MCM allows you to turn down sun damage to 0. It does not disable it's game-breaking effects, or the movement speed reduction, and etc which is why I'm here. Touching the sun triggers a permanent "Cannot wait in this location" bug.
lol Because then that would be completely counter productive for him to go after the Bow of Auri'El. He would legit have a ring that gives him the ability to walk in the sun without repercussions
An idea for incorporating the ring into the Skyrim world, place a witch in a distant location with rumors flying around of her existence. Let there be vampires with daylight rings already living in society then when the player reaches a certain level, he or she can travel to the witches location and ask her to make a daylight ring, where she will ask for the items to make the ring and a blessed bow from the Dawnguard questline. The witch will make the ring in full sunlight with your blood then give it to you for a price. Maybe daedric hearts or something. I mean she is assisting the dead so she is evil.
That is like saying all vampires are evil, Lol. I actually play a Vampire that slays other vampires, He had to become what he hated to be the ultimate Vampire Hunter, Once he completes his mission, He will Then wish to end his own life. Roleplaying can be fun.
Why not a Better Vampire's version, than a Vampiric Thirst. Because that mod is "NO LONGER ACTIVE. I am no longer developing or maintaining Vampiric Thirst." said author. Also most people use BV, as i do. I would love this ring for immersive purposes. Also addicted to "Vampire Diaries" on season 7 at the moment.Lol
First off can I just say that I love this mod. ok, I was hoping you would be able to help me. Basically, I was trying to change the ring into a hood using the creation kit. I'm fairly new to modding so I tried at first to just load the tdodaylightring and simply replace the models and make changes to cover hair/ears etc. This failed lol. Then I tried making a new model, which was the Serana hood parts just named different, and made a new keyword 'daylighthood' and then added a wornhaskeyword for it to all the effects in vampirevampirism. This also failed lol. When I reloaded the mod in ck, all the effects in the vampirevampirism were gone (!?) so vampiric thirst then did nothing to my vampires when in sunlight. I'm really puzzled as to how I would make a hood work. This is only for myself as I like the idea of wearing the same as Serana for protection just because it feels a little more immersive. Would you kindly be able to give me some pointers as to how to achieve my goal? Thanks.
p.s. I have also PM'd you about this in case you would rather respond via that. Thanks again ... well, thats if you want to respond ... i hope you do otherwise i'll probably cry
EDIT: haha. I figured it out. Now I can wear a hood without needing to use this addon. I would like to thank you though as without this addon I would not have had the tools to create my own. Your addon was my inspiration so many thanks. Oh, and the haha at the start was meant as the haha you do when you've discovered something and not as a mocking haha (just thought I would mention it as I wouldn't want anyone thinking I was being a tw*t lol).
instead of DayLight Ring- A Vampiric Thirst Add-on as well as Vampiric Thirst - Dawnguard Edition, Immersive Jewelry and Exchange currency to run your 1st mod, why not do a mod that have you shop from within you house rather the have your vampire go out in the daytime to shop and it only needs one mod rather then four mods.
