We're coming up on the fifth anniversary of this mod's release, and I'm happy to say that I will be releasing a Special Edition version. Without getting too complex, I've cleaned up and improved a lot of the base mod using what I've learned over the past five years. I've also been working on finishing the mod.
Yes, finishing it. I've always considered Specialized Followers to be unfinished because I didn't cover all of the NPC followers in the game. When DLC came out and added even more followers, that only made the issue worse. I'm finally working through to finish this mod. When it's released, the new Special Edition Followers will be covering all NPC followers from the base game and all DLC. I'm not just copying old abilities, either. Other than the new Housecarls, all of the new followers are getting their own unique abilities.
A great deal has changed in my life that's left me much busier, but I will be trying very hard to finish Special Edition Followers before this mod's fifth anniversary on the 28th.

I see follower abilities but (particularly with sven) I have yet to see him use his special spells. Any idea if Amazing Follower Tweaks affects this? Also, is it okay to select a combat style from AFT while using this?
Not sure what I did. But in my last playthrough, Aela kept the Wolf Armor she had from Armor and Clothing Diversity. In my current playthrough, she has gone back to using the Ancient Nord Armor after doing the quest where I drink her blood in the Underforge. Are there two Aelas? One before I see her as a werewolf in the Underforge, and one after I've transformed back to human for the first time and she is standing before me? That's when her default outfit gets changed.
I thought I'd give this mod another try, since learning how to use TES5Edit. Made it compatible with parts of USKP, the cloaks I'm using, Men of Winter, etc. I like the little changes this mod makes here and there. Getting ready to test out Aela in combat.
ADDED: Very cool. Aela turns into a werewolf during combat.
an updated version for the legendary edition of Skyrim is maintained by me with permission from sushisquid, for everyone interested: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/60589/?
