I just uploaded three separate files with three different color schemes. The first is a sort of white-gold or silver; as close to the original Oblivion version as possible. The second is a bright polished gold, which should pair nicely with the Elven Gilded Armor. The third essentially uses the vanilla glass weapon metal textures, which means it should look about how the vanilla Skyrim version looks. I will get some good comparison screenshots as soon as possible.
I also scaled the whole sword up a tiny bit; it seemed a bit small.
I haven't had a chance to test yet, so let me know if you find any issues.
I think their general rule is that you can't take assets from one game and insert them into another game. Technically speaking, I don't think you're even allowed to take assets from a DLC and make it available to someone who hasn't bought the DLC. Pretty sure that's just always been their policy.
@Kolagon I think you can if you port the textures and meshes then set them up correctly as if you were adding custom models and textures. You would not be able so upload then to Nexus though.
I'm pretty sure the user was aware this was a replacer. What I'm assuming they were confused about (and what I was confused about as well) was where the modded replacer version that looks exactly like your 5th image file labeled "Oblivion Version" is? I'm guessing now that you only put it there for reference so we knew what the original model in Oblivion looked like.
Editing my comment here because I figured out how to make this version work with a transparency! Yay! But yeah... an option for a transparent icy blade option from you might be a neat idea? Still... asides from all that.. this is a nice redesign and I'll gladly use it (even if I did wind up editing my own copy a smidge)! >_o
A standalone version is always a welcoming plus since options are always nice. Never played Oblivion but I too had looked up images of it's items and, well.. yeah. When I saw Chillrend, I was a bit bummed out to not see it that way in Skyrim. Thanks a lot.
I've never have played Oblivion before but, I have done alot of research and looked up several pictures on its weaponry. Considering how Chillrend on there was a shortsword class, this is perfect. However, I like the Nightingale Shortsword as well. I would really love a standalone version of this. By all means. From the pictures you've clearly done a great job. A smooth finish on the sword and everything.

Did a small texture edit to add some black detailing on the grip to better match the Oblivion version.

It would be against TOS to upload it as it is a offical TES 4 model.
